“ This is what Cyrus king of Persia says:“‘ The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah.

“ Cyrus, the king of Persia, says,“‘ The Lord is the God of heaven. He has given me all the kingdoms on earth. He has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah.

“ Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

“ This is what King Cyrus of Persia says:“ The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth. He has appointed me to build him a Temple at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: All the kingdoms of the earth the Lord God of heaven has given me. And He has commanded me to build Him a house at Jerusalem which is in Judah.

是我造了地，又在其上創造人；是我親手展開了諸天，又命定其中的萬象。是我以公義興起了居魯士，並要修直他一切的道路。他必重建我的城，釋放我的被擄之民，不是為工價，也不是為酬報。」這是萬軍之耶和華說的。

是我實現我僕人的話語，成就我使者們的籌算；我論耶路撒冷說：『必有人居住』，又論猶大各城說：『必被重建，我必使它們從廢墟中興起』；是我對深淵說：『乾涸吧！我也要使流入你的江河枯乾』；我論居魯士說：『我的牧人！他必成就我所喜悅的一切』，論耶路撒冷說：『必被重建』，又論聖殿說：『根基必被奠定。』」耶和華緊拉著居魯士的右手，讓列國降服在他面前，使君王們的腰帶鬆開；又讓門在他面前敞開，使城門也不關閉——耶和華對所膏立的居魯士如此說：

耶和華如此說：「天是我的寶座，地是我的腳凳。你們要為我建造的殿宇在哪裡呢？我安歇的地方在哪裡呢？」

因著神所賜給他的權勢，所有的民族、國家、語言群體都在他面前戰兢恐懼；他想要殺誰就殺誰，想要讓誰活就讓誰活，想要高舉誰就高舉誰，想要降卑誰就降卑誰。然而，他心裡高舉自己，靈裡變得剛硬，以致行事狂傲，就從王權的寶座上被廢黜，他的尊榮也被奪去了。他從世人中被趕出，他的心變得像獸的心一樣，他的住處與野驢在一起，他像牛那樣吃牧草，身體被天上的露水濕透，直到他明白：至高神在人的國中掌權，願意立誰就立誰治理國家。

王啊，你是王中之王！天上的神把國度、權能、力量和尊榮都賜給了你，也把世人、田野的走獸、天空的飛鳥，無論住在哪裡，都交在你的手中，讓你統轄這一切；你就是那金的頭。

你必從人間被趕出，你的住處必與田野的走獸在一起；你必像牛那樣吃牧草，讓七個時期從你流過，直到你明白：至高者在人的國中掌權，他願意把國賜給誰就賜給誰。」

是他改變時勢和時期；是他廢王、立王；是他賜智慧給智慧人，賜知識給有悟性的人；

反而對天上的主高舉自己，讓人把他殿中的器皿帶到你面前來，你和你的大臣們、妻子們、妃嬪們都用這些來喝酒；你稱讚那些不能看、不能聽、不能知——用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所做的神明，卻不尊崇那位掌握你的氣息、掌握你一切道路的神。

你必從人間被趕出，你的住處必與田野的走獸在一起；你必像牛那樣吃牧草，被天上的露水濕透，讓七個時期從你流過，直到你明白：至高者在人的國中掌權，他願意把國賜給誰就賜給誰。

然而天上有一位神，就是顯明奧祕的那一位，他已經使尼布甲尼撒王明白了末後的日子將要發生的事——這就是你在床上所做的夢和腦海中的異象。
