then they drew near to Zerubbabel, and to the heads of fathers’ houses, and said unto them, Let us build with you; for we seek your God, as ye do; and we sacrifice unto him since the days of Esar- haddon king of Assyria, who brought us up hither.

就前来见所罗巴伯和众族长，对他们说：“请让我们与你们一起建造吧！因为我们也像你们那样寻求你们的神。自从亚述王以撒哈顿把我们带上这里的日子以来，我们一直向他献祭。”

就去見所羅巴伯和以色列的族長，對他們說：「請容我們與你們一同建造；因為我們尋求你們的神，與你們一樣。自從亞述王以撒哈頓帶我們上這地以來，我們常祭祀神。」

就前來見所羅巴伯和眾族長，對他們說：“請讓我們與你們一起建造吧！因為我們也像你們那樣尋求你們的神。自從亞述王以撒哈頓把我們帶上這裡的日子以來，我們一直向他獻祭。”

就進前來見所羅巴伯和父系的族長，對他們說：『請讓我們和你們一同建造，因為我們尋問你們的上帝、和你們一樣；自從亞述王以撒哈頓帶我們上這地的日子以來、我們總是祭獻上帝的。』

則詣所羅巴伯與族長、謂之曰、請許我與爾同建、蓋我尋求爾之上帝、如爾曹然、自亞述王以撒哈頓攜我來時、以迄於今、與之獻祭、

則詣所羅把伯、與族中最著者、曰、我宗事爾之上帝、與爾無異、自亞述王以撒哈頓、使我至此迄今、祭司匪懈、故欲與爾同建斯殿。

則往見所羅巴伯及諸族長、謂之曰、求容我與爾同建、因我崇事爾之天主、與爾無異、自亞述王以撒哈頓使我至此以來、我惟祭祀天主、

they came to Zerubbabel and to the heads of the families and said,“ Let us help you build because, like you, we seek your God and have been sacrificing to him since the time of Esarhaddon king of Assyria, who brought us here.”

Then those enemies came to Zerubbabel. The family leaders of Israel were with him. The enemies said,“ We want to help you build. We’re just like you. We worship your God. We offer sacrifices to him. We’ve been doing that ever since the time of Esarhaddon. He was king of Assyria. He brought our people here.”

they approached Zerubbabel and the heads of fathers’ houses and said to them,“ Let us build with you, for we worship your God as you do, and we have been sacrificing to him ever since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assyria who brought us here.”

So they approached Zerubbabel and the other leaders and said,“ Let us build with you, for we worship your God just as you do. We have sacrificed to him ever since King Esarhaddon of Assyria brought us here.”

they approached Zerubbabel and the family heads and said to them,“ Let us build with you, for we also worship your God and have been sacrificing to him since the time King Esar-haddon of Assyria brought us here.”

they approached Zerubbabel and the heads of fathers’ households, and said to them,“ Let us build with you, for like you, we seek your God; and we have been sacrificing to Him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assyria, who brought us up here.”

they came to Zerubbabel and the heads of the fathers’ houses, and said to them,“ Let us build with you, for we seek your God as you do; and we have sacrificed to Him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assyria, who brought us here.”

Then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as ye[ do]; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assur, which brought us up hither.

they came near to Zerubbabel, and to the heads of fathers’ households, and said to them,“ Let us build with you; for we seek your God, as you do; and we have been sacrificing to him since the days of Esar Haddon king of Assyria, who brought us up here.”

And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Ararat. And Esar- haddon his son reigned in his stead.

And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Avva, and from Hamath and Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel; and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.

So these nations feared Jehovah, and served their graven images; their children likewise, and their children’s children, as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.

Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the law of the god of the land.So one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Beth- el, and taught them how they should fear Jehovah.Howbeit every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt.And the men of Babylon made Succoth- benoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,and the Avvites made Nibhaz and Tartak; and the Sepharvites burnt their children in the fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.So they feared Jehovah, and made unto them from among themselves priests of the high places, who sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.They feared Jehovah, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations from among whom they had been carried away.

They scoff, and in wickedness utter oppression: They speak loftily.

Out of that land he went forth into Assyria, and builded Nineveh, and Rehoboth- Ir, and Calah,

Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt- offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.

But many of the priests and Levites and heads of fathers’ houses, the old men that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy:

Fervent lips and a wicked heart Are like an earthen vessel overlaid with silver dross.He that hateth dissembleth with his lips; But he layeth up deceit within him:When he speaketh fair, believe him not; For there are seven abominations in his heart:Though his hatred cover itself with guile, His wickedness shall be openly showed before the assembly.

And even as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also withstand the truth; men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith.

Then rose up the heads of fathers’ houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, even all whose spirit God had stirred to go up to build the house of Jehovah which is in Jerusalem.

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, fashioning themselves into apostles of Christ.And no marvel; for even Satan fashioneth himself into an angel of light.It is no great thing therefore if his ministers also fashion themselves as ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

But there arose false prophets also among the people, as among you also there shall be false teachers, who shall privily bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.And many shall follow their lascivious doings; by reason of whom the way of the truth shall be evil spoken of.

who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:

Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses; neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods; for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.

and that because of the false brethren privily brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.
