哈大底謝的臣僕看見自己在以色列人面前被打敗了，就與大衛議和，臣服了他；於是亞蘭人不敢再幫助亞捫人。

現在奏知大王：如果這城建成，牆垣築好，他們就不再繳稅、進貢和納糧，王的國庫收入必定受損。

我要你們知道，凡是祭司、利未人、歌唱的、守門的，作殿役的和在這神的殿裡作僕人的，都不可以向他們徵收稅款、貢物和糧食。

大衛在以東設立駐防營，所有以東人就都臣服大衛。大衛無論到甚麼地方去，耶和華都使他得勝。

於是大衛在大馬士革的亞蘭地駐軍，亞蘭人就臣服大衛，給他進貢。大衛無論到甚麼地方去，耶和華都使他得勝。

你們腳掌踏過的每一處地方，我都照著我應許摩西的賜給你們了。從曠野和這黎巴嫩，直到大河，就是幼發拉底河，赫人的全地，以至大海日落的地方，就是你們的疆界。
