For seven days they celebrated with joy the Festival of Unleavened Bread, because the Lord had filled them with joy by changing the attitude of the king of Assyria so that he assisted them in the work on the house of God, the God of Israel.

For seven days they celebrated the Feast of Unleavened Bread with joy. That’s because the Lord had filled them with joy. They were glad because he had changed the mind of the king of Persia. So the king had helped them with the work on the house of the God of Israel.

And they kept the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days with joy, for the Lord had made them joyful and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria to them, so that he aided them in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.

Then they celebrated the Festival of Unleavened Bread for seven days. There was great joy throughout the land because the Lord had caused the king of Assyria to be favorable to them, so that he helped them to rebuild the Temple of God, the God of Israel.

波斯王塞鲁士元年，耶和华为要应验祂借耶利米所说的话，就感动波斯王塞鲁士，使他下诏通告全国：

耶和华掌管君王的心，易如支配垄沟的流水。

你们要把旧酵除掉，好成为真正无酵的新面团，因为我们逾越节的羔羊——基督已经被献为祭了。所以，我们不可带着歹毒邪恶的旧酵守这逾越节，而要用真诚纯洁的无酵饼。

以斯拉说：“我们祖先的上帝耶和华当受赞美！因为祂使王有这样的心意尊崇耶路撒冷耶和华的殿。

在耶路撒冷的以色列人非常喜乐地守除酵节七天。利未人和祭司用响亮的乐器天天颂赞耶和华。

所有在场的以色列人都在那时守逾越节，又守除酵节七天。

于是，大流士王降旨：“河西总督达乃、示他·波斯乃，以及你们的同僚——河西的官员，要远离那殿！不要干涉上帝殿的建造，要让犹太人的省长和长老在原址上重建这座上帝的殿。另外，我降旨命你们帮助犹太人的长老建造上帝的殿，要立刻从河西的王室税收中拨出款项作建殿之用，以免耽误工程。他们向天上的上帝献燔祭时所需的公牛犊、公绵羊、绵羊羔、小麦、盐、酒和油，都要照耶路撒冷祭司的话天天供给他们，不得有误，好让他们向天上的上帝献上蒙悦纳的祭物，并为王和众王子求寿。我再降旨，若有人更改这谕旨，必从他的房屋抽掉一根大梁，把他钉在梁上挂起来，他的房屋也要沦为粪堆。无论君王还是百姓，若有人擅自更改这命令或毁坏耶路撒冷的这殿，愿拣选这殿作其居所的上帝毁灭他！我大流士降此谕旨，务要速速遵行。”

在节期的七天之内，你们只可以吃无酵饼，到了第七天，你们要为耶和华守节期。七天之内要吃无酵饼，你们境内不得有酵或是带酵的东西。

“七天之内你们都要吃无酵饼。第一天，要清除家中所有的酵。任何人若在这七天当中吃有酵的饼，要将他从以色列人中铲除。在节期的第一天和第七天，你们都要招聚百姓举行圣会。这两天所有人都不得工作，除了预备各人要吃的以外，不可做任何工。你们要守这无酵节，因为我在这天把你们大队人马从埃及领了出来。你们要守这节期，作为世世代代永远的定例。从一月十四日晚上开始，直到二十一日晚上，你们都要吃无酵饼。在这七天内，你们屋里不能有酵。任何人若吃了有酵的东西，不论他是寄居者还是本地人，要将他从以色列会众中铲除。无论你们住在哪里都要吃无酵饼，不能吃有酵的食物。”

我必从埃及领他们回到故土，从亚述招聚他们，领他们到基列和黎巴嫩，那里将不够他们居住。祂必经过苦海，击打海浪，尼罗河必干涸，亚述的骄傲必扫地，埃及的势力必灭没。

除酵节的第一天，门徒来问耶稣说：“我们该在什么地方为你准备逾越节的晚餐呢？”

人所行的若蒙耶和华喜悦，耶和华必使仇敌与他和好。

耶稣回答说：“除非从上面赐下权柄给你，否则你无权处置我。因此，把我交给你的那人罪更大。”

约西亚执政期间，埃及王尼哥前往幼发拉底河援助亚述王，约西亚出兵迎战尼哥，在米吉多被杀。

所以，耶和华就差遣亚述王的将领来攻击他们，他们捉住玛拿西，用钩子钩着他，用铜链锁着他押往巴比伦。
