In the first year that Cyrus was king, he gave an order. It concerned God’s temple in Jerusalem. King Cyrus said, Rebuild the temple. Then the Jews can offer sacrifices there. Lay its foundations. The temple must be 90 feet high and 90 feet wide.

城是四方的，長寬都一樣。天使用葦子量那城：有四千里；長寬高都相等；

那時你們就必須有一個地方、是永恆主你們的上帝所選擇、做他名之居所的地方；你們要將我所吩咐你們獻的：燔祭、和別的祭物、十分之一獻物、和手奉的提獻物、以及一切最好的還願祭、就是你們所許願獻與永恆主的、都帶到那地方。你們要在永恆主你們的上帝面前歡樂，你們跟你們的兒子和女兒、你們的奴僕和使女、以及在你們城內的利未人、都要歡樂，因為利未人不同你們一樣有分有業。你要謹慎、不可在你所看到的任何地方隨便獻上你的燔祭；總要在你族派中的一派、永恆主所選擇的地方、在那裏獻上你的燔祭，在那裏行我所吩咐你的一切事。

不，永恆主你們的上帝從你們眾族派中選擇了甚麼地方做立他名的所在，你們就要到那地方、訪問他的居所；要將你們的燔祭、和別的祭物、你們的十分之一獻物、和手奉的提獻物、你們的還願祭、和自願獻的祭、以及牛羣羊羣中頭胎的、都帶到那裏；

誰有力量能為他建殿呢？天和天上之天尚且容不下他；我、我是誰，可以為他建殿麼？不過在他面前燔祭燒香罷了。

然而在巴比倫王古列元年，古列王下了諭旨叫猶大人建造上帝的這殿。並且上帝殿中的器皿、無論金的銀的、就是尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷的殿堂中所掠去、帶到巴比倫廟裏的、古列王也都從巴比倫廟裏取了出來，交給受派為巡撫的、名叫設巴薩；對他說：『將這些器皿帶上，去存放在耶路撒冷的殿堂中，在原處將上帝的殿建造起來。』

所羅門王為永恆主建的殿、長六十肘，寬二十肘，高三十肘。殿堂前的廊子長二十肘，和殿的寬度一樣；廊子在殿前闊十肘。

這樣、他量了殿，長一百肘；又量了隔開地，量了那建築物和它的牆，共長一百肘；殿的前面和東面的隔開地、共寬一百肘。他量了隔開地後面的建築物：又量了建築物這邊和那邊的遊廊，連那建築物共長一百肘。殿堂和內殿與其外「門廊」

所羅門建造上帝的殿所下的根基是六十肘、按先前的尺度，寬二十肘。殿前的廊子長二十肘，和殿的寬度相等；廊子寬十肘；高二十肘；裏面包着淨金。

眾族派上那裏去，永恆主的族派上京城去，照為以色列定的法度、稱讚永恆主的名。
