They have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons, and have mingled the holy race with the peoples around them. And the leaders and officials have led the way in this unfaithfulness.”

The men of Israel have married the daughters of some of those people. They’ve also taken some of those women for their sons to marry. So they’ve mixed our holy nation with the nations around us. We leaders and officials have also married women who don’t worship the Lord. By doing this, we have led the way in breaking our covenant with the Lord.”

For they have taken some of their daughters to be wives for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy race has mixed itself with the peoples of the lands. And in this faithlessness the hand of the officials and chief men has been foremost.”

For the men of Israel have married women from these people and have taken them as wives for their sons. So the holy race has become polluted by these mixed marriages. Worse yet, the leaders and officials have led the way in this outrage.”

「耶和華－你的神領你進入你要得為業之地，從你面前趕出許多國家，就是比你更強大的七個國家：赫人、革迦撒人、亞摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人。當耶和華－你的神把他們交給你，你擊殺他們的時候，你要完全消滅他們，不可與他們立約，也不可憐惜他們。不可與他們結親；不可將你的女兒嫁給他的兒子，也不可叫你的兒子娶他的女兒。因為他必使你的兒女離棄我，去事奉別神，以致耶和華的怒氣向你們發作，迅速將你除滅。

在祭司中查出娶外邦女子的：耶書亞的子孫中，有約薩達的兒子，和他兄弟瑪西雅、以利以謝、雅立、基大利，他們承諾要送走他們的妻子。他們因有罪，就獻羊羣中的一隻公綿羊贖罪；音麥的子孫中，有哈拿尼、西巴第雅；哈琳的子孫中，有瑪西雅、以利雅、示瑪雅、耶歇、烏西雅；巴施戶珥的子孫中，有以利約乃、瑪西雅、以實瑪利、拿坦業、約撒拔、以利亞薩。利未人中，有約撒拔、示每、基拉雅，基拉雅就是基利他，還有毗他希雅、猶大、以利以謝。歌唱的人中有以利亞實。門口的守衛中，有沙龍、提聯、烏利。以色列人巴錄的子孫中，有拉米、耶西雅、瑪基雅、米雅民、以利亞撒、瑪基雅、比拿雅。以攔的子孫中，有瑪他尼、撒迦利亞、耶歇、押底、耶列末、以利雅。薩土的子孫中，有以利約乃、以利亞實、瑪他尼、耶列末、撒拔、亞西撒。比拜的子孫中，有約哈難、哈拿尼雅、薩拜、亞勒。巴尼的子孫中，有米書蘭、瑪鹿、亞大雅、雅述、示押、拉末。巴哈‧摩押的子孫中，有阿底拿、基拉、比拿雅、瑪西雅、瑪他尼、比撒列、賓內、瑪拿西。哈琳的子孫中，有以利以謝、伊示雅、瑪基雅、示瑪雅、西緬、便雅憫、瑪鹿、示瑪利雅。哈順的子孫中，有瑪特乃、瑪達他、撒拔、以利法列、耶利買、瑪拿西、示每。巴尼的子孫中，有瑪玳、暗蘭、烏益、比拿雅、比底雅、基祿、瓦尼雅、米利末、以利亞實、瑪他尼、瑪特乃、雅掃、巴尼、賓內、示每、示利米雅、拿單、亞大雅、瑪拿底拜、沙賽、沙賴、亞薩利、示利米雅、示瑪利雅、沙龍、亞瑪利雅、約瑟。尼波的子孫中，有耶利、瑪他提雅、撒拔、西比拿、雅玳、約珥、比拿雅。這些人全都娶了外邦女子，其中也有生了兒女的。

「因為你是屬於耶和華－你神神聖的子民；耶和華－你的神從地面上的萬民中揀選你，作自己寶貴的子民。

猶大行事詭詐，在以色列和耶路撒冷中行了可憎的事；因為猶大褻瀆耶和華所喜愛的聖殿，娶外邦神明的女子為妻。

以攔的子孫，耶歇的兒子示迦尼對以斯拉說：「我們娶了這地的外邦女子，干犯了我們的神，然而現在以色列人在這事上還有指望。

一個人如果還剩下一點靈性，他不會這麼做。這人在尋找甚麼呢？神的後裔！當謹守你們的靈性，誰也不可背棄年輕時所娶的妻。

以色列人聽見這律法，就與所有不同族羣的人分別出來。在這之前，與多比雅結親的以利亞實祭司，受派管理我們神殿中的庫房，

國內剩下的人若還有十分之一，也必被吞滅。然而如同大樹與橡樹，雖被砍伐，殘幹卻仍存留，聖潔的苗裔是它的殘幹。」

因為不信的丈夫會因着妻子成了聖潔；不信的妻子也會因着丈夫成了聖潔。不然，你們的兒女就不潔淨了，但現在他們是聖潔的。

我就斥責猶大的貴族，對他們說：「你們怎麼會做這惡事干犯安息日呢！

神的兒子們看見人的女子美貌，就隨意挑選，娶來為妻。

以利亞實大祭司的孫子，耶何耶大的一個兒子是和倫人參巴拉的女婿，我就把他從我這裏趕出去。
