其以聖神始、而以形跡終乎？豈爾之冥頑不靈、一至於此乎？

Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?

Are you so foolish? You began by the Holy Spirit. Are you now trying to finish God’s work in you by your own strength?

Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?

How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?

You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope.For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth?That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. (niv)

This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper.They are only a matter of food and drink and various ceremonial washings— external regulations applying until the time of the new order. (niv)

Those who want to impress people by means of the flesh are trying to compel you to be circumcised. The only reason they do this is to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ.Not even those who are circumcised keep the law, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast about your circumcision in the flesh.May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. (niv)

So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods.But now that you know God— or rather are known by God— how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?You are observing special days and months and seasons and years! (niv)

one who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry but on the basis of the power of an indestructible life.For it is declared:“ You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.”The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless( for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.
