You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.

Some of you are trying to be made right with God by obeying the law. You have been separated from Christ. You have fallen away from God’s grace.

You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.

For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.

You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by the Law; you have fallen from grace.

You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.

Ye are severed from Christ, ye who would be justified by the law; ye are fallen away from grace.

For if, having escaped the world’s impurity through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in these things and defeated, the last state is worse for them than the first.For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy command delivered to them.It has happened to them according to the true proverb: A dog returns to its own vomit, and,“ A washed sow returns to wallowing in the mud.”

I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing.

But Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not achieved the righteousness of the law.Why is that? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone.

Now if by grace, then it is not by works; otherwise grace ceases to be grace.

Make sure that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no root of bitterness springs up, causing trouble and defiling many.

Now to the one who works, pay is not credited as a gift, but as something owed.But to the one who does not work, but believes on him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited for righteousness.

For no one will be justified in his sight by the works of the law, because the knowledge of sin comes through the law.

Take note! I, Paul, am telling you that if you get yourselves circumcised, Christ will not benefit you at all.

For it is impossible to renew to repentance those who were once enlightened, who tasted the heavenly gift, who shared in the Holy Spirit,who tasted God’s good word and the powers of the coming age,and who have fallen away. This is because, to their own harm, they are recrucifying the Son of God and holding him up to contempt.

Since they are ignorant of the righteousness of God and attempted to establish their own righteousness, they have not submitted to God’s righteousness.For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes,since Moses writes about the righteousness that is from the law: The one who does these things will live by them.

Remember then how far you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. Otherwise, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.

I am amazed that you are so quickly turning away from him who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—not that there is another gospel, but there are some who are troubling you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, a curse be on him!As we have said before, I now say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, a curse be on him!

Therefore, dear friends, since you know this in advance, be on your guard, so that you are not led away by the error of lawless people and fall from your own stable position.But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity.

But my righteous one will live by faith; and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him.But we are not those who draw back and are destroyed, but those who have faith and are saved.
