Then God blessed them, saying,“ Be fruitful and multiply. Let the fish fill the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth.”

God blessed them and said,“ Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.”

How he blesses them! They raise large families there, and their herds of livestock increase.

So the Lord blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning. For now he had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 teams of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys.

“ Take a look at Behemoth, which I made, just as I made you. It eats grass like an ox.

Then God blessed Noah and his sons and told them,“ Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth.

Your wife will be like a fruitful grapevine, flourishing within your home. Your children will be like vigorous young olive trees as they sit around your table.

“ I will look favorably upon you, making you fertile and multiplying your people. And I will fulfill my covenant with you.

May our barns be filled with crops of every kind. May the flocks in our fields multiply by the thousands, even tens of thousands,and may our oxen be loaded down with produce. May there be no enemy breaking through our walls, no going into captivity, no cries of alarm in our town squares.

The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.

Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them.

“ Please listen to me,” Laban replied.“ I have become wealthy, for the Lord has blessed me because of you.

You had little indeed before I came, but your wealth has increased enormously. The Lord has blessed you through everything I’ve done. But now, what about me? When can I start providing for my own family?”

Then God said,“ I am El Shaddai—‘ God Almighty.’ Be fruitful and multiply. You will become a great nation, even many nations. Kings will be among your descendants!
