Then God said,“ Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness. They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, the whole earth, and the creatures that crawl on the earth.”

and to put on the new self, the one created according to God’s likeness in righteousness and purity of the truth.

The LORD God said,“ Since the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil, he must not reach out, take from the tree of life, eat, and live forever.”

what is a human being that you remember him, a son of man that you look after him?You made him little less than God and crowned him with glory and honor.You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet:all the sheep and oxen, as well as the animals in the wild,the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea that pass through the currents of the seas.

We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit.

Acknowledge that the LORD is God. He made us, and we are his— his people, the sheep of his pasture.

With the tongue we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in God’s likeness.

But no one asks,“ Where is God my Maker, who provides us with songs in the night,
