Then God said,“ Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.”

Can you, with Him, spread out the skies, Strong as a cast metal mirror?

Covering Yourself with light as with a cloak, Stretching out heaven like a tent curtain.

It is He who made the earth by His power, Who established the world by His wisdom, And by His understanding He stretched out the heavens.

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, And by the breath of His mouth all their lights.

He stretches out the north over empty space And hangs the earth on nothing.He wraps up the waters in His clouds, And the cloud does not burst under them.

For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood firm.

It is He who made the earth by His power, Who established the world by His wisdom; And by His understanding He has stretched out the heavens.When He utters His voice, there is a roar of waters in the heavens, And He makes the clouds ascend from the end of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain, And brings out the wind from His storehouses.

To Him who made the heavens with skill, For His faithfulness is everlasting;To Him who spread out the earth above the waters, For His faithfulness is everlasting;

Then God said,“ Let the waters teem with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the heavens.”

The pronouncement of the word of the Lord concerning Israel: The Lord who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of a person within him, declares:

The heavens tell of the glory of God; And their expanse declares the work of His hands.

In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the floodgates of the sky were opened.The rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights.

If the clouds are full, they pour out rain on the earth; and whether a tree falls toward the south or toward the north, wherever the tree falls, there it lies.

Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, And have you seen the storehouses of the hail,Which I have reserved for a time of distress, For a day of war and battle?Where is the way that the light is divided, And the east wind scattered on the earth?“ Who has split open a channel for the flood, And a way for the thunderbolt,To bring rain on a land without people, On a desert without a person in it,

By His breath the heavens are cleared; His hand has pierced the fleeing serpent.

He also loads the clouds with moisture; He disperses the cloud of His lightning.

Then God said,“ Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and they shall serve as signs and for seasons, and for days and years;

Praise Him, highest heavens, And the waters that are above the heavens!

But the Lord is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. The earth quakes at His wrath, And the nations cannot endure His indignation.

Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty expanse.
