They said to each other,“ Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar.

And they said to one another,“ Come, let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” And they had brick for stone, and bitumen for mortar.

They began saying to each other,“ Let’s make bricks and harden them with fire.”( In this region bricks were used instead of stone, and tar was used for mortar.)

They said to each other,“ Come, let’s make oven-fired bricks.”( They used brick for stone and asphalt for mortar.)

Then they said to one another,“ Come, let’s make bricks and fire them thoroughly.” And they used brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar.

Then they said to one another,“ Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar.

使邑中民出、或置於鋸下、或置於碾穀之鐵具下、或置於鐵斧下、或使經行磚窰中、或作強其民或用鋸或用碾穀之鐵具或用鐵斧工作或使在磚窰中服役大衛待亞捫人諸邑之民俱如此、其後大衛與眾軍士歸耶路撒冷、

今我示爾、我此葡萄園、我將何以處之、必撤去藩籬、任獸噬之、毀其墻垣、任其蹂躪、

此民作磚、爾勿如昔給之禾稈、使往自斂、仍令按前數作磚、不可減少、其人怠惰、故號呼曰、容我往祭我之天主、當加增其工、俾之操作、使不復聽信虛浮之言、督民之役者、及其諸有司出、諭民曰、法老如是云、我不復給爾禾稈、爾往隨所見自尋禾稈、而工毋少減、於是民散往伊及遍地、尋草芥以代禾稈、督役者促之曰、一日當竣一日之工、與昔有禾稈無異、法老所設之督役者、撻所立以色列人之有司曰、昨與今日爾所作之磚、胡不滿其數如昔日乎、以色列有司至法老前呼曰、何待僕等若此、不以禾稈給僕、又命僕如數作磚、今僕見撻、是乃使王之民受罪、法老曰、爾惰矣、爾惰矣、故云、容我往祭耶和華、今爾往仍當操作、禾稈不給爾、磚必如數交納、

噫、爾言或今日、或明日、我將往某邑、居彼一年、貿易獲利、

彼此扶助、更相勉勵、曰、當壯贍、木工勉金工、以鎚治光者勉擊碪者、亦必言、莫若釬為善、以釘釘堅、使不搖撼、

又曰、我儕當建城與臺、臺頂高及天、藉以揚我名、以免散於天下、

爾將被困、當汲水以備所飲、固爾保障、和泥造磚、和泥造磚或作以土和泥原文作入泥踐土修葺磚窰、

我自思曰、原文作我心中曰不如試宴樂、享安逸、乃知此亦屬於虛、

我儕降臨、淆其言語、使彼此不通、

故爾當乘尚有今日、日相勸勉、免爾中有人迷於罪、而剛愎其心、

彼眾相勉行惡、商議暗設網羅、自誇無人能見、

噫、富者乎、當哀哭號泣、因苦難將臨爾也、

如彼曰、爾我同行、我欲設伏殺人流血、無故立謀、以害無辜者、
