Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they settled there.

Terah left Ur in Babylon. He took with him his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran. Terah also took his daughter- in- law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram. All of them left together to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they made their home there.

Terah took Abram his son and Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram’s wife, and they went forth together from Ur of the Chaldeans to go into the land of Canaan, but when they came to Haran, they settled there.

One day Terah took his son Abram, his daughter in law Sarai( his son Abram’s wife), and his grandson Lot( his son Haran’s child) and moved away from Ur of the Chaldeans. He was headed for the land of Canaan, but they stopped at Haran and settled there.

耶和华对他说：“我是耶和华，我把你从迦勒底人的吾珥领出来，为要将这地赐给你，使你拥有它。”

那仆人从他主人的骆驼群中取来十匹骆驼，拿着他主人的各样美物就出发了；他起身往美索不达米亚，去拿鹤的城。

塔勒的年日有两百零五年，然后死在哈兰。耶和华对亚伯兰说：“你当离开你的本土、本族、父家，往我将要指示你的地去。

迦南的边界从西顿延伸到基拉耳，直到加沙；又延伸到所多玛、格摩拉、押玛、洗扁，直到拉沙。

我儿啊，现在你当听我的话；起来！逃往哈兰，到我哥哥拉班那里去，

因着信，亚伯拉罕蒙召的时候，就顺从出发，往他将要得为继业的地方去。他出发的时候，还不知道往哪里去。

雅各问牧人们：“我的兄弟们，你们从哪里来？”他们说：“我们从哈兰来。”他问他们：“你们认识拿鹤的孙子拉班吗？”他们说：“我们认识。”

塔勒活到七十岁时，生了亚伯兰、拿鹤和哈兰。以下是塔勒的谱系：塔勒生了亚伯兰、拿鹤、哈兰；哈兰生了罗得。哈兰在他父亲塔勒之前，死在他本族之地，就是迦勒底的吾珥。
