The whole land of Canaan, where you now reside as a foreigner, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.”

You are now living in Canaan as an outsider. But I will give you the whole land of Canaan. You will own it forever and so will all your family after you. And I will be their God.”

And I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.”

And I will give the entire land of Canaan, where you now live as a foreigner, to you and your descendants. It will be their possession forever, and I will be their God.”

就是他與亞伯拉罕所立的約，向以撒所起的誓；

我的家在神面前，不正是這樣嗎？他與我立下永遠的約，既全備又穩妥。我的一切拯救和一切願望，他不都成全嗎？

「我在你們中間是寄居者，是客旅；請把你們中間的一塊地產給我作墳地，好讓我把死者從我身旁移去安葬。」

耶和華對他說：「我是耶和華，我把你從迦勒底人的吾珥領出來，為要將這地賜給你，使你擁有它。」亞伯蘭說：「主耶和華啊，我怎能知道我會擁有這地呢？」耶和華就對他說：「你為我取來一頭三歲的小母牛、一隻三歲的母山羊、一隻三歲的公綿羊、一隻斑鳩和一隻雛鴿。」他就為耶和華取來這一切，把每樣都從中間剖開，一半對著另一半擺列，但沒有把鳥剖開。有猛禽飛落在這些屍體上，亞伯蘭就趕走牠們。日落的時候，亞伯蘭陷入沉睡。看哪，有大而恐怖的黑暗落在他身上！耶和華對亞伯蘭說：「你要確切知道：你的後裔將在不屬於自己的地上寄居，並服事那地的人；那地的人將苦待他們四百年。但我將審判他們所服事的那個國家；此後他們將帶著大量的財物出來。至於你，你必平平安安地歸到你祖先那裡，你必盡享天年，才被安葬。他們到第四代才會回到這裡，因為亞摩利人的罪孽還沒有滿盈。」日落天黑的時候，看哪，有冒煙的火爐和燃燒的火把在這些肉塊之間經過！就在那一天，耶和華與亞伯蘭立約，說：「我已經把這地賜給你的後裔，從埃及河直到幼發拉底大河，就是基尼人、基尼洗人、甲摩尼人、赫提人、比利洗人、利乏音人、亞摩利人、迦南人、革迦撒人、耶布斯人之地。」

對我說：『看哪，我要使你繁衍增多，成為萬族之族；又要把這地賜給你的後裔作永遠的產業。』

為此，基督做了新約的中保，藉著死贖清了人在第一個約之下的過犯，好使那些蒙召的人可以得到所應許的永恆繼業。

但是耶和華的慈愛臨到敬畏他的人，從永遠到永遠；他的公義歸於他們的子子孫孫，
