“ My lords,” he said,“ come to my home to wash your feet, and be my guests for the night. You may then get up early in the morning and be on your way again.”“ Oh no,” they replied.“ We’ll just spend the night out here in the city square.”

and said,“ My lords, turn aside to your servant’s house, wash your feet, and spend the night. Then you can get up early and go on your way.”“ No,” they said.“ We would rather spend the night in the square.”

And he said,“ Here now, my lords, please turn in to your servant’s house and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.” And they said,“ No, but we will spend the night in the open square.”

and he said, Behold now, my lords, turn aside, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your way. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.

and said,“ My lords, turn aside to your servant’s house, wash your feet, and spend the night. Then you can get up early and go on your way.”“ No,” they said.“ We would rather spend the night in the square.”

And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.

He said,“ Here, my lords, please turn aside to your servant’s house. Stay the night and wash your feet. Then you can be on your way early in the morning.”“ No,” they replied,“ we’ll spend the night in the town square.”

and he said,“ See now, my lords, please come into your servant’s house, stay all night, wash your feet, and you can rise up early, and go on your way.” They said,“ No, but we will stay in the street all night.”

Please let a little water be brought and wash your feet, and make yourselves comfortable under the tree;

Do not neglect hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.

And they approached the village where they were going, and He gave the impression that He was going farther.And so they strongly urged Him, saying,“ Stay with us, for it is getting toward evening, and the day is now nearly over.” So He went in to stay with them.

And he raised his eyes and saw the traveler in the public square of the city; and the old man said,“ Where are you going, and where do you come from?”And he said to him,“ We are passing from Bethlehem in Judah to the remote part of the hill country of Ephraim, for I am from there, and I went to Bethlehem in Judah. But I am now going to my house, and no one will take me into his house.Yet there is both straw and feed for our donkeys, and also bread and wine for me, and your female slave, and the young man who is with your servants; there is no lack of anything.”Then the old man said,“ Peace to you. Only let me take care of all your needs; however, do not spend the night in the public square.”So he took him into his house and fed the donkeys, and they washed their feet and ate and drank.

Now when she and her household had been baptized, she urged us, saying,“ If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and stay.” And she prevailed upon us.
