眾曰、退、又曰、斯人旅於斯土、乃欲為士師、今將害爾、較彼尤甚、遂迫羅得、徑前欲破其門、

曰、爾速退、爾旅於此、乃欲為士師乎。今將害爾、較彼尤甚。且促羅得、勢甚迫切、徑前、欲破其門。

“ Get out of our way,” they replied.“ This fellow came here as a foreigner, and now he wants to play the judge! We’ll treat you worse than them.” They kept bringing pressure on Lot and moved forward to break down the door.

“ Get out of our way!” the men of Sodom replied to Lot.“ You came here as an outsider. Now you want to act like a judge! We’ll treat you worse than them.” They kept trying to force Lot to open the door. Then they moved forward to break it down.

“ Stand back!” they shouted.“ This fellow came to town as an outsider, and now he’s acting like our judge! We’ll treat you far worse than those other men!” And they lunged toward Lot to break down the door.

“ Get out of the way!” they said, adding,“ This one came here as an alien, but he’s acting like a judge! Now we’ll do more harm to you than to them.” They put pressure on Lot and came up to break down the door.

“ Out of our way!” they cried, and“ This man came to live here as a foreigner, and now he dares to judge us! We’ll do more harm to you than to them!” They kept pressing in on Lot until they were close enough to break down the door.

They said,“ Stand back!” Then they said,“ This one fellow came in to live as a foreigner, and he appoints himself a judge. Now we will deal worse with you than with them!” They pressed hard on the man Lot, and came near to break the door.

He answered,“ Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you mean to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid, and thought,“ Surely the thing is known.”

Abram settled in the land of Canaan, while Lot settled among the cities of the valley and moved his tent as far as Sodom.

and if he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked( for as that righteous man lived among them day after day, he was tormenting his righteous soul over their lawless deeds that he saw and heard);

who say,“ Keep to yourself, do not come near me, for I am too holy for you.” These are a smoke in my nostrils, a fire that burns all the day.

The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness, and the end of his talk is evil madness.

“ Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.

He ordered the furnace heated seven times more than it was usually heated.And he ordered some of the mighty men of his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.Then these men were bound in their cloaks, their tunics, their hats, and their other garments, and they were thrown into the burning fiery furnace.Because the king’s order was urgent and the furnace overheated, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

A stone is heavy, and sand is weighty, but a fool’s provocation is heavier than both.

Whoever corrects a scoffer gets himself abuse, and he who reproves a wicked man incurs injury.Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.

This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that the same event happens to all. Also, the hearts of the children of man are full of evil, and madness is in their hearts while they live, and after that they go to the dead.

Now therefore know this and consider what you should do, for harm is determined against our master and against all his house, and he is such a worthless man that one cannot speak to him.”

And if the man said to him,“ Let them burn the fat first, and then take as much as you wish,” he would say,“ No, you must give it now, and if not, I will take it by force.”
