神的靈創造了我，全能者的氣使我存活。

也不受人手的服事，好像他缺少甚麼；他自己反而把生命、氣息和一切，賜給萬人。

你必汗流滿面，才有飯吃，直到你歸回地土，因為你是從地土取出來的；你既然是塵土，就要歸回塵土。”

因為他知道我們的本體，記得我們不過是塵土。

只要我的生命還在我裡面，神賜我的氣息還在我鼻孔裡，

第一個人是出於地，是屬土的；第二個人是出於天。

仍在陸地上，鼻孔裡有氣息的生靈都死了。

耶和華神就把他趕出伊甸園，去耕種他自己也是從那裡出來的地土。

你這個人哪，你是誰，竟敢跟神頂嘴呢？被造的怎麼可以對造他的說：“你為甚麼把我做成這個樣子呢？”

以下是耶和華的默示，這是耶和華論到以色列的話（是耶和華的宣告，他鋪張諸天，奠定大地的根基，造成人裡面的靈）：

你們不要倚靠世人，他的鼻孔裡只有一口氣息，他實在算得甚麼呢？

要知道耶和華是神；他創造了我們，我們是屬他的（“我們是屬他的”有古抄本作“不是我們自己”）；我們是他的子民，也是他草場上的羊。

摩西和亞倫就俯伏在地，說：“神啊，萬人之靈的神啊，一人犯罪，你就要向全體會眾發怒嗎？”

在神面前我與你一樣，也是用土捏造的。

還有，肉身的父親管教我們，我們尚且敬重他們；何況那萬靈的父，我們不是更要順服他而得生嗎？

說了這話，就向他們吹一口氣，說：“你們領受聖靈吧！

人的靈是耶和華的燈，探照人的臟腑。

大家都到一個地方去，都出於塵土，也都歸回塵土。有誰知道人的靈是往上升，牲畜的魂（“魂”的原文與“靈”〔3:21〕和“氣息”〔3:19〕相同）是下降而入地呢？”

我們知道，如果我們在地上的帳棚拆毀了，我們必得著從神而來的居所。那不是人手所造的，而是天上永存的房屋。

我要稱謝你，因為我的受造奇妙可畏；你的作為奇妙，這是我深深知道的。我在隱密處被造，在地的深處被塑造，那時，我的形體不能向你隱藏。

撕裂有時，縫補有時；靜默有時，講話有時；

我們有這寶貝在瓦器裡，是要顯明這極大的能力是屬於神，不是出於我們。

何況那些住在土屋裡，根基在塵土中，比蠹蟲還容易被壓碎的人呢？
