Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

經上所記也是這樣說：『頭一個人亞當成了活的血氣人；末後的亞當成了使人活的靈。』

上帝的靈造了我，全能者的氣使我活着。

也不受人手的服事，好像另外需要甚麼似的。倒是他自己將生命、氣息、和萬物、賜給萬人。

你必汗流滿面、才得喫食，直到你歸了土，因為你是由土取出來的：你本是塵土，仍要歸於塵土。』

因為他知道我們的體質，他記得我們不過是塵土。

儘我氣息還在我裏面，而上帝所噓之氣仍在我鼻孔裏，

頭一個人出於地，是屬土的；第二個人是出於天的。

凡在旱地上、鼻孔有氣息的生靈都死了；

永恆主上帝便打發他出伊甸園，去耕種土地；原來他自己倒是從土地被取出來的。

但是人哪，你到底是誰，你這跟上帝頂嘴的？被塑造的哪能對塑造他的說：「你為甚麼造我像這樣呢？」

神託以下是永恆主的話論到以色列的：那展開諸天、奠定大地、形成人靈於人裏面的永恆主發神諭說：

你們對世人可要罷休了；他不過有氣息在鼻孔裏罷了；他可算得甚麼？

要曉得永恆主才是上帝；是他造了我們；我們屬於他；我們是他的子民、他牧養的羊。

摩西、亞倫就臉伏於地說：『上帝啊，萬人之靈的上帝啊，一個人犯罪、你就要惱怒全會眾麼？』

你看我，我在上帝面前、也同你一樣；我也是由摶泥被揑成的。

再者，我們有我們肉身之父管教我們，我們尚且尊敬他們，何況靈性之父，我們豈不更當順服他而活麼？

說了這話，就向他們吹一口氣，說：『你們受聖靈！

人的靈性是永恆主賜的燈；它探照到人腹中深處。

他們都向着一處走：都是出於塵土，也都回歸塵土。誰能知道人類的靈是往上升、獸類的魂是往下降而入於地呢？

我們知道我們這地上的帳篷式房屋若拆毁了，我們就可以從上帝得到建築物，非人手造的、永世的在天上的房屋。

我稱謝你，因為你可畏懼而奇妙；你所作的很奇妙。你深深認識我。我在祕密之處被造，像在地府之極深處受編織，那時我的形骸並不向你隱藏。

撕裂有時，縫補有時；靜默有時，說話有時；

但我們有這寶貝在瓦器裏，是要顯明這能力之無量高超是屬於上帝，不是出於我們。

何況那住在土房、根基在塵世裏、比蛀蟲易被壓碎的人呢？
