“ Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said.“ Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”

“ Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said.“ Do not harm him. Now I know that you would do anything for God. You have not held back from me your son, your only son.”

He said,“ Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”

“ Don’t lay a hand on the boy!” the angel said.“ Do not hurt him in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God. You have not withheld from me even your son, your only son.”

Then he said,“ Do not lay a hand on the boy or do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your only son from me.”

He said,“ Do not reach out your hand against the boy, and do not do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”

And He said,“ Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”

And he said, Lay not thy hand upon the lad, neither do thou anything unto him; for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son, from me.

Then He said,“ Do not lay a hand on the boy or do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your only son from Me.”

And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only[ son] from me.

“ Do not harm the boy!” the angel said.“ Do not do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God because you did not withhold your son, your only son, from me.”

He said,“ Don’t lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”

Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. (niv)

But Samuel replied:“ Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams. (niv)

But someone will say,“ You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. (niv)

because Abraham obeyed me and did everything I required of him, keeping my commands, my decrees and my instructions.” (niv)

Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. (niv)

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all— how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? (niv)

the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love. (niv)

The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. (niv)

They have built the high places of Baal to burn their children in the fire as offerings to Baal— something I did not command or mention, nor did it enter my mind. (niv)

But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well- fed calves. (niv)

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (niv)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (niv)

Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers. (niv)

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (niv)

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (niv)

For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have. (niv)

Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (niv)

Who, then, are those who fear the Lord? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose. (niv)

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (niv)

Then Jesus said to his disciples,“ Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. (niv)

I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me. (niv)

But the earlier governors— those preceding me— placed a heavy burden on the people and took forty shekels of silver from them in addition to food and wine. Their assistants also lorded it over the people. But out of reverence for God I did not act like that. (niv)

Moses said to the people,“ Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.” (niv)

Abraham replied,“ I said to myself,‘ There is surely no fear of God in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.’ (niv)

Then a voice came from the throne, saying:“ Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, both great and small!” (niv)

Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death. (niv)

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, (niv)

Although a wicked person who commits a hundred crimes may live a long time, I know that it will go better with those who fear God, who are reverent before him.Yet because the wicked do not fear God, it will not go well with them, and their days will not lengthen like a shadow. (niv)

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands. (niv)
