既已樂意將他的兒子啓示於我，好讓我把他傳為福音在外國人中間，立刻地、我沒有跟血肉之人商量，

因着信、亞伯拉罕蒙了召，就聽從而出去，到他將要受為基業的地方去；他出去，不知道要往哪裏去！

亞伯拉罕清早起來，拿餅和一皮袋水、給了夏甲，搭在她肩膀上，把孩子也給打發走。夏甲就走了；她在別是巴野地走迷了路。

他心意鎮定；你守護他平平安安，因為他倚靠你。你們要倚靠永恆主到永永遠遠；因為萬世的磐石乃在於永恆主。

彼得就對耶穌說：『你看，我們已經撇下了一切，跟從了你了。』耶穌說：『我實在告訴你們，人為了我、並為了福音、撇下了房屋、或弟兄、或姐妹、或母親或父親、或兒女、或田地，沒有不在現今這時期得百倍的：房屋、弟兄、姐妹、母親、兒女、和田地、附帶着受逼迫，又在來世得永生的。然而有許多首先的必成了末後的，末後的必成了首先的！』

愛父親或母親過於愛我的，配不起我；愛兒子或女兒過於愛我的，配不起我；

凡你的手見得可作的事、你總要盡力去作；因為在你所要去的陰間、那裏沒有工作，沒有設計，沒有知識，也沒有智慧。

因着信、亞伯拉罕被試驗的時候，就把以撒供獻了；並且那領受了應許的是想要供獻個獨生子呢；而關於這兒子並且有話說：『是本於以撒的、才得以稱為你的後裔』的。亞伯拉罕心裏想，就是從死人中、上帝也能叫人甦活起來；因此在表樣的意義上說、他也真地得回了以撒呀。

就在這一天，亞伯拉罕就照上帝所對他說的，拉了他的兒子以實瑪利和自己家中的男人，一切男子，就是所有在家裏生的、和所有用銀子買的，都在他們包皮肉上給行了割禮。
