He was afraid and said,“ How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven.”

Jacob was afraid. He said,“ How holy this place is! This must be the house of God. This is the gate of heaven.”

And he was afraid and said,“ How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.”

But he was also afraid and said,“ What an awesome place this is! It is none other than the house of God, the very gateway to heaven!”

So it was named Allon Bakuth.After Jacob returned from Paddan Aram, God appeared to him again and blessed him.God said to him,“ Your name is Jacob, but you will no longer be called Jacob; your name will be Israel.” So he named him Israel.And God said to him,“ I am God Almighty; be fruitful and increase in number. A nation and a community of nations will come from you, and kings will be among your descendants.The land I gave to Abraham and Isaac I also give to you, and I will give this land to your descendants after you.”Then God went up from him at the place where he had talked with him. “ We are doomed to die!” he said to his wife.“ We have seen God!” (niv)

and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God. (niv)

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said:“ Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. (niv)

and the people went out to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus, they found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. (niv)
