She conceived again, and when she gave birth to a son she said,“ Because the Lord heard that I am not loved, he gave me this one too.” So she named him Simeon.

She became pregnant again. She had a son. Then she said,“ The Lord heard that Jacob doesn’t love me very much. That’s why the Lord gave me this one too.” So she named him Simeon.

She conceived again and bore a son, and said,“ Because the Lord has heard that I am hated, he has given me this son also.” And she called his name Simeon.

She soon became pregnant again and gave birth to another son. She named him Simeon, for she said,“ The Lord heard that I was unloved and has given me another son.”

She conceived again, gave birth to a son, and said,“ The LORD heard that I am neglected and has given me this son also.” So she named him Simeon.

Then she conceived again and gave birth to a son, and said,“ Because the Lord has heard that I am unloved, He has therefore given me this son also.” So she named him Simeon.

And she conceived again, and bare a son: and said, Because Jehovah hath heard that I am hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon.

Three days later, while all of them were still in pain, two of Jacob’s sons, Simeon and Levi, Dinah’s brothers, took their swords and attacked the unsuspecting city, killing every male. (niv)

“ Simeon and Levi are brothers— their swords are weapons of violence.Let me not enter their council, let me not join their assembly, for they have killed men in their anger and hamstrung oxen as they pleased. (niv)

Then Leah said,“ God has rewarded me for giving my servant to my husband.” So she named him Issachar. (niv)

Then Leah said,“ God has presented me with a precious gift. This time my husband will treat me with honor, because I have borne him six sons.” So she named him Zebulun. (niv)

He turned away from them and began to weep, but then came back and spoke to them again. He had Simeon taken from them and bound before their eyes. (niv)

The sons of Leah: Reuben the firstborn of Jacob, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar and Zebulun. (niv)

Then Rachel said,“ God has vindicated me; he has listened to my plea and given me a son.” Because of this she named him Dan. (niv)

Then Rachel said,“ I have had a great struggle with my sister, and I have won.” So she named him Naphtali. (niv)

Then Jacob said to Simeon and Levi,“ You have brought trouble on me by making me obnoxious to the Canaanites and Perizzites, the people living in this land. We are few in number, and if they join forces against me and attack me, I and my household will be destroyed.” (niv)
