她又怀孕生子，起名叫利未，说：“我给丈夫生了三个儿子，他必与我联合。”

她又怀孕生子，说：“我给丈夫生了三个儿子，现在，这次他必亲近我了。”因此，雅各给他起名叫利未。

她又再度怀孕，生了一个儿子，就说：“这次我丈夫一定会依恋我，因为我给他生了三个儿子。”于是，他给孩子取名叫利未。

她又怀孕，生了一个儿子，就说：“这一次，我的丈夫要依恋我了，因为我已经给他生了三个儿子。”因此给孩子起名叫利未。

她又怀孕，生了一个儿子，就说：“这次我丈夫必与我结合，因为我为他生了三个儿子。”因此给这孩子起名为利未。

又妊生子、命名利未、曰、今生三子、夫必膠漆於我、

又孕生子、曰、我已生三子、夫今必與我聯合、故名之曰利未、利未譯即聯合之義

Again she conceived, and when she gave birth to a son she said,“ Now at last my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.” So he was named Levi.

She became pregnant again. She had a son. Then she said,“ Now at last my husband will value me. I have had three sons by him.” So the boy was named Levi.

Again she conceived and bore a son, and said,“ Now this time my husband will be attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore his name was called Levi.

Then she became pregnant a third time and gave birth to another son. He was named Levi, for she said,“ Surely this time my husband will feel affection for me, since I have given him three sons!”

She conceived again, gave birth to a son, and said,“ At last, my husband will become attached to me because I have borne three sons for him.” Therefore he was named Levi.

And she conceived again and gave birth to a son, and said,“ Now this time my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore he was named Levi.

She conceived again and bore a son, and said,“ Now this time my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore his name was called Levi.

And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have borne him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi.

She conceived again, gave birth to a son, and said,“ At last, my husband will become attached to me because I have borne three sons for him.” Therefore he was named Levi.

She became pregnant again and had another son. She said,“ Now this time my husband will show me affection, because I have given birth to three sons for him.” That is why he was named Levi.

She conceived again, and bore a son. She said,“ Now this time my husband will be joined to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore his name was called Levi.

就站在营门中，说：“凡属耶和华的，都要到我这里来！”于是利未的子孙都到他那里聚集。他对他们说：“耶和华以色列的神这样说：‘你们各人把刀跨在腰间，在营中往来，从这门到那门，各人杀他的弟兄与同伴并邻舍。’”利未的子孙照摩西的话行了。那一天百姓中被杀的约有三千。摩西说：“今天你们要自洁，归耶和华为圣，各人攻击他的儿子和弟兄，使耶和华赐福与你们。”

“西缅和利未是弟兄；他们的刀剑是残忍的器具。我的灵啊，不要与他们同谋；我的心哪，不要与他们联络；因为他们趁怒杀害人命，任意砍断牛腿大筋。他们的怒气暴烈可咒；他们的忿恨残忍可诅。我要使他们分居在雅各家里，散住在以色列地中。

你要带你弟兄利未人，就是你祖宗支派的人前来，使他们与你联合，服侍你，只是你和你的儿子，要一同在法柜的帐幕前供职。他们要守所吩咐你的，并守全帐幕，只是不可挨近圣所的器具和坛，免得他们和你们都死亡。他们要与你联合，也要看守会幕，办理帐幕一切的事，只是外人不可挨近你们。

到第三天，众人正在疼痛的时候，雅各的两个儿子，就是底拿的哥哥西缅和利未，各拿刀剑，趁着众人想不到的时候来到城中，把一切男丁都杀了，

“论利未说：耶和华啊，你的土明和乌陵都在你的虔诚人那里。你在玛撒曾试验他，在米利巴水与他争论。他论自己的父母说：我未曾看见；他也不承认弟兄，也不认识自己的儿女。这是因利未人遵行你的话，谨守你的约。他们要将你的典章教训雅各，将你的律法教训以色列。他们要把香焚在你面前，把全牲的燔祭献在你的坛上。

有一个利未家的人娶了一个利未女子为妻。

利未的儿子是革顺、哥辖、米拉利。

利亚所生的是雅各的长子流便，还有西缅、利未、犹大、以萨迦、西布伦。
