After Jacob came from Paddan Aram, he arrived safely at the city of Shechem in Canaan and camped within sight of the city.

耶路巴力的儿子亚比米勒到了示剑见他的众母舅，对他们和他外祖全家的人说：

又被带到示剑，葬于亚伯拉罕在示剑用银子从哈抹子孙买来的坟墓里。

约书亚将以色列的众支派聚集在示剑，召了以色列的长老、族长、审判官，并官长来，他们就站在神面前。

以撒娶利百加为妻的时候正四十岁。利百加是巴旦亚兰地的亚兰人彼土利的女儿，是亚兰人拉班的妹子。

于是到了撒玛利亚的一座城，名叫叙加，靠近雅各给他儿子约瑟的那块地。

你起身往巴旦亚兰去，到你外祖彼土利家里，在你母舅拉班的女儿中娶一女为妻。

以扫见以撒已经给雅各祝福，而且打发他往巴旦亚兰去，在那里娶妻，并见祝福的时候嘱咐他说：“不要娶迦南的女子为妻”，又见雅各听从父母的话往巴旦亚兰去了，

雅各从巴旦亚兰回来，神又向他显现，赐福与他，

这是利亚在巴旦亚兰给雅各所生的儿子，还有女儿底拿。儿孙共有三十三人。

约翰在靠近撒冷的哀嫩也施洗；因为那里水多，众人都去受洗。
