那时，以弗仑正坐在赫人中间。赫人以弗仑就回答亚伯拉罕，说给所有出入城门的赫人听：

不要把圣物给狗，也不要把你们的珍珠丢在猪面前，恐怕它们践踏了珍珠，转过来咬你们。”

因为外表是犹太人的不是真犹太人；外表肉身的割礼也不是真割礼。惟有内心作犹太人的才是真犹太人，真割礼也是心里的，在乎圣灵，不在乎仪文。这样的人所受的称赞不是从人来的，而是从上帝来的。

在那一天，亚伯拉罕遵照上帝所说的，给他的儿子以实玛利和家里所有的男丁，无论是在家里生的，或是用银子买来的，都行了割礼。

受割礼算不了什么，不受割礼也算不了什么，只要谨守上帝的诫命就是了。

在所有出入城门的赫人眼前，卖给亚伯拉罕作为他的产业。

所多玛的官长啊，你们要听耶和华的言语！蛾摩拉的百姓啊，要侧耳听我们上帝的教诲！耶和华说：“你们许多的祭物于我何益呢？公绵羊的燔祭和肥畜的油脂，我已经腻烦了；公牛、羔羊、公山羊的血，我都不喜悦。“你们来朝见我，谁向你们的手要求这些，使你们践踏我的院宇呢？不要再献无谓的供物了，香是我所憎恶的。我不能容忍行恶又守严肃会：初一、安息日和召集的大会。你们的初一和节期，我心里恨恶，它们成了我的重担，担当这些，令我厌烦。你们举手祷告，我必遮眼不看，就算你们多多祈祷，我也不听；你们的手沾满了血。你们要洗涤、自洁，从我眼前除掉恶行；要停止作恶，
