“你要为以色列人向米甸人报仇，然后归到你祖先那里。”摩西吩咐百姓说：“要在你们中间叫人带兵器去攻击米甸，为耶和华向米甸报仇。

我对他们说：“你们若看为美，就给我工价。不然，就罢了！”于是他们秤了三十块银钱作为我的工价。耶和华对我说：“把它丢给窑户。那是他们对我所估定的好价钱！”我就取这三十块银钱，在耶和华的殿中将它丢给窑户。

这就应验了先知耶利米所说的话：“他们用那三十块银钱，就是以色列人给那被估定的人所估定的价钱，

基甸又对他们说：“我有一件事求你们，请你们各人把所夺的耳环给我。”因敌人都戴金耳环，他们是以实玛利人。

成群的骆驼，并米甸和以法的独峰驼遮满你；示巴的众人都必来到，要奉上黄金和乳香，又要传扬赞美耶和华的话。

那被杀的米甸女子，名叫哥斯比，是苏珥的女儿；苏珥是米甸一个父家的领袖。

以色列人对基甸说：“你既然救我们脱离米甸的手，愿你治理我们，你的儿子孙子也治理我们。”

求你待他们，如待米甸，如在基顺河待西西拉和耶宾一样。
