He went back to his brothers and said,“ The boy isn’t there! Where can I turn now?”

Then he went back to his brothers and lamented,“ The boy is gone! What will I do now?”

He returned to his brothers and said,“ The boy is not there; as for me, where am I to go?”

And he returned to his brothers and said,“ The lad is no more; and I, where shall I go?”

And he returned unto his brethren, and said, The child is not; and I, whither shall I go?

He went back to his brothers and said,“ The boy is gone! What am I going to do?”

But they replied,“ Your servants were twelve brothers, the sons of one man, who lives in the land of Canaan. The youngest is now with our father, and one is no more.” (niv)

This is what the Lord says:“ A voice is heard in Ramah, mourning and great weeping, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.” (niv)

As they were emptying their sacks, there in each man’s sack was his pouch of silver! When they and their father saw the money pouches, they were frightened.Their father Jacob said to them,“ You have deprived me of my children. Joseph is no more and Simeon is no more, and now you want to take Benjamin. Everything is against me!” (niv)

“ Come now, let’s kill him and throw him into one of these cisterns and say that a ferocious animal devoured him. Then we’ll see what comes of his dreams.” (niv)
