不要步该隐的后尘。他属于那恶者，杀害了自己的弟弟。他为什么要杀害自己的弟弟呢？因为他的行为邪恶，而他弟弟秉行公义。

弓箭手凶猛地攻击他，恶狠狠地射他。

恨弟兄姊妹的人活在黑暗中，走在黑暗中，不知何去何从，因为黑暗弄瞎了他的眼睛。

从前我们也愚蠢、悖逆、易受迷惑，受各种私欲和享乐的驱使，心里充满了嫉妒和恶念，令人憎恶，也彼此憎恨。

无故恨我的人不计其数，无故害我的仇敌势力强大，逼我偿还我没有偷过的东西。

却不悦纳该隐和他的祭物。该隐便非常恼火，面带怒容。

约瑟的哥哥们嫉恨他，他父亲却把这些话记在心里。

耶西就派人去叫他回来。他面色红润，眉清目秀，相貌英俊。耶和华说：“就是他，起来膏立他吧。”撒母耳就拿出盛膏油的角，当着他哥哥们的面膏立他。从那天起，耶和华的灵降在大卫身上。事后，撒母耳回拉玛去了。

“如果世人恨你们，要知道，他们恨你们以前已经恨我了。如果你们属于这个世界，世人一定会爱你们。可是你们不属于这世界，我已经把你们拣选出来，因此世人恨你们。

我的仇敌势力强大，无故恨我的人不计其数。

约瑟做了一个梦，并告诉了哥哥们，他们更恨他了。

耶稣的弟弟们对祂说：“离开这里，去犹太过节吧，好让你的门徒在那里也看见你所做的啊！因为人想出名，都不会暗地里行事，你既然可以做这些事，就把自己显给世人看吧！”原来连祂的弟弟们也不信祂。

约瑟的哥哥们远远看见他走来，趁他还没有到跟前，就合谋要害死他。他们彼此商量说：“看！做梦的来了。来吧！我们杀了他，把他扔在井里，就说有野兽把他吃掉了，看他的梦怎么实现。”吕便听后想救约瑟的性命，就说：“我们不要害他性命。”他又说：“不要杀人流血，把他扔在这口井里吧，不要下手害他。”吕便想救约瑟，把他交回给父亲。这时候，约瑟来了，他们就脱去他身上的彩衣，把他扔到井里。当时，那口井是干的，没有水。
