But Pharaoh had a pole stuck through the chief baker’s body. Then he had the pole set up. Everything happened just as Joseph had told them when he explained their dreams.

“ Let these false prophets tell their dreams, but let my true messengers faithfully proclaim my every word. There is a difference between straw and grain!

One night the chief baker and I each had a dream, and each dream had its own meaning.There was a young Hebrew man with us in the prison who was a slave of the captain of the guard. We told him our dreams, and he told us what each of our dreams meant.And everything happened just as he had predicted. I was restored to my position as cup bearer, and the chief baker was executed and impaled on a pole.”

This man Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar, has exceptional ability and is filled with divine knowledge and understanding. He can interpret dreams, explain riddles, and solve difficult problems. Call for Daniel, and he will tell you what the writing means.”

That night the secret was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven.He said,“ Praise the name of God forever and ever, for he has all wisdom and power.He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars.He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he is surrounded by light.I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors, for you have given me wisdom and strength. You have told me what we asked of you and revealed to us what the king demanded.”

The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead after you killed him by hanging him on a cross.

And they replied,“ We both had dreams last night, but no one can tell us what they mean.”“ Interpreting dreams is God’s business,” Joseph replied.“ Go ahead and tell me your dreams.”

“ It is beyond my power to do this,” Joseph replied.“ But God can tell you what it means and set you at ease.”
