Joseph named his first son Manasseh. That’s because he said,“ God has made me forget all my trouble and my father’s whole family.”

Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh.“ For,” he said,“ God has made me forget all my hardship and all my father’s house.”

Joseph named his older son Manasseh, for he said,“ God has made me forget all my troubles and everyone in my father’s family.”

Joseph named the firstborn Manasseh and said,“ God has made me forget all my hardship and my whole family.”

Joseph named the firstborn Manasseh;“ For,” he said,“ God has made me forget all my trouble and all of my father’s household.”

Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh:“ For God has made me forget all my toil and all my father’s house.”

因為，他的怒氣不過是轉眼之間；他的恩典乃是一生之久。一宿雖然有哭泣，早晨便必歡呼。

他為牛羣中頭生的，有威嚴；他的角是野牛的角，用以牴觸萬邦，直到地極。這角是以法蓮的萬萬，瑪拿西的千千。

讓他喝了，就忘記他的貧窮，不再記念他的苦楚。

這樣，在地上為自己求福的，必憑真實的神求福；在地上起誓的，必指真實的神起誓。因為，從前的患難已經忘記，也從我眼前隱藏了。

我必不永遠相爭，也不長久發怒，恐怕我所造的人與靈性都必發昏。

我未到埃及見你之先，你在埃及地所生的以法蓮和瑪拿西這兩個兒子是我的，正如呂便和西緬是我的一樣。

隨後又要來七個荒年，甚至在埃及地都忘了先前的豐收，全地必被饑荒所滅。

隨後，約瑟又拉着他們兩個，以法蓮在他的右手裏，對着以色列的左手，瑪拿西在他的左手裏，對着以色列的右手，領他們到以色列的跟前。以色列伸出右手來，按在以法蓮的頭上（以法蓮乃是次子），又剪搭過左手來，按在瑪拿西的頭上（瑪拿西原是長子）。

女子啊，你要聽，要想，要側耳而聽！不要記念你的民和你的父家，

約瑟對他父親說：「我父，不是這樣。這本是長子，求你把右手按在他的頭上。」他父親不從，說：「我知道，我兒，我知道。他也必成為一族，也必昌大。只是他的兄弟將來比他還大；他兄弟的後裔要成為多族。」當日就給他們祝福說：「以色列人要指着你們祝福說：『願神使你如以法蓮、瑪拿西一樣。』」於是立以法蓮在瑪拿西以上。

你已將我的哀哭變為跳舞，將我的麻衣脫去，給我披上喜樂，
