Then he remembered his dreams about them and said to them,“ You are spies! You have come to see where our land is unprotected.”

Then Joseph remembered his dreams about them. So he said to them,“ You are spies! You have come to see the places where our land isn’t guarded very well.”

And Joseph remembered the dreams that he had dreamed of them. And he said to them,“ You are spies; you have come to see the nakedness of the land.”

And he remembered the dreams he’d had about them many years before. He said to them,“ You are spies! You have come to see how vulnerable our land has become.”

Joseph remembered his dreams about them and said to them,“ You are spies. You have come to see the weakness of the land.”

And Joseph remembered the dreams which he had about them, and he said to them,“ You are spies; you have come to look at the undefended parts of our land.”

Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them,“ You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!”

And Joseph remembered the dreams which he dreamed of them, and said unto them, Ye are spies; to see the nakedness of the land ye are come.

約瑟做了一個夢，並告訴了哥哥們，他們更恨他了。約瑟對哥哥們說：「你們聽聽我做的夢——我們在田裡捆莊稼，我捆的莊稼站起來，你們捆的莊稼都圍著我捆的莊稼下拜。」他的哥哥們回答說：「難道你真想做我們的王統治我們嗎？」他們因約瑟的夢和他說的話而更恨他。後來，約瑟又做了一個夢，他又去對哥哥們說：「你們聽聽我做的另一個夢，我夢見太陽、月亮和十一顆星星都向我下拜。」

探子看見一個人從城裡出來，就對他說：「請你告訴我們進城的路，我們必善待你。」

於是，那兩個年輕探子便進去，把喇合和她的父母、兄弟及所有的親人都帶出來，安置在以色列人的營外。

耶和華擊殺百姓，是因為他們曾與亞倫一起造牛犢。

以上是摩西派去打探迦南的人，他稱嫩的兒子何西阿為約書亞。摩西派他們去打探迦南，並囑咐說：「你們先去南地，然後再進山區，打探那地方，看看那裡的居民是強是弱，是多是少；那地方是好是壞，人們住的是堅固的城池還是不設防的營地；土地是肥沃還是貧瘠，有沒有樹木。儘量帶些當地的果子回來。」當時是葡萄初熟的季節。

但你們要把最小的弟弟帶來見我，這樣我便知道你們不是奸細，是誠實人。我就會釋放你們的弟兄，你們也可以在這裡自由地買賣。』」

「你要派十二位首領，每個支派一位，去打探我要賜給以色列人的迦南。」

妓女喇合憑信心善待以色列的探子，沒有與那些不順服的人一同滅亡。

於是，他們密切地監視耶穌，又派遣密探假裝好人，想從祂的話裡找把柄抓祂去見總督。

嫩的兒子約書亞暗中從什亭派出兩個探子去偵察對岸，特別是耶利哥的情況。他們來到一個名叫喇合的妓女家中，就住在那裡。

說：「埃及的宰相對我們說話很凶，還把我們當成奸細。我們對他說，『我們是誠實人，不是奸細。

就派人去打探消息，得知掃羅的追兵果然已到。

你們派一個人回去把你們的弟弟帶來，其他人都要被囚禁在這裡，我要看看你們說的是真還是假。要是你們說的是假話，我以法老的性命起誓，你們一定是奸細。」
