猶大謂父以色列曰、遣童子偕我、我儕即起而往、爾與我儕及我子女、皆可保全、不至死亡、

Then Judah said to Israel his father,“ Send the boy along with me and we will go at once, so that we and you and our children may live and not die.

And Judah said to Israel his father,“ Send the boy with me, and we will arise and go, that we may live and not die, both we and you and also our little ones.

我听说埃及有粮食，你们快到埃及去买些粮食回来吧，免得我们饿死。”

一个臣仆说：“不如派人骑着城中仅存的五匹马出去打探一下。反正他们和城中剩下的以色列人一样快要死了。”

我们告诉他，我们不能来，只有我们的弟弟同来，我们才能来。否则，我们不能见你的面。

因此，你们不要害怕，我会照顾你们和你们的儿女。”约瑟好言好语地宽慰他们。

如果我们进城，城里正闹饥荒，我们会饿死；但我们坐在这里也是死，不如去投靠亚兰军。如果他们不杀我们，我们就能活命；如若不然，死就死吧！”

然后，我在亚哈瓦河边宣布禁食，为要在我们的上帝面前谦卑下来，祈求祂保护我们、我们的儿女及财物一路平安。

摩西祝福吕便支派说：“尽管吕便人数稀少，愿他存活，不致灭没。”

“要孝敬父母，以便在你的上帝耶和华赐给你的土地上享长寿。

我必不至于死，我要活着，并要述说耶和华的作为。

吩咐你的弟兄从埃及带着车去把他们的妻子、儿女和你们的父亲接来。

以及约瑟全家、他的众弟兄和雅各的家眷，只有他们的孩子和牛羊仍然留在歌珊。

雅各说：“我的儿子不可跟你们去。他哥哥已经死了，现在只剩下他。要是他在路上遇到什么意外，你们会使我这白发苍苍的老人凄凄惨惨地进坟墓。”

你们说你们的儿女会被掳去，但我要把他们带到那里，让他们享有那片你们厌弃的土地。
