“ Now then, please let your servant remain here as my lord’s slave in place of the boy, and let the boy return with his brothers.

Now therefore, please let your servant remain instead of the boy as a servant to my lord, and let the boy go back with his brothers.

We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.

Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good.But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.

for my people, my Jewish brothers and sisters. I would be willing to be forever cursed— cut off from Christ!— if that would save them.

But now, if you will only forgive their sin— but if not, erase my name from the record you have written!”

Because of this oath, Jesus is the one who guarantees this better covenant with God.
