耶穌又對他們說：“你們為了堅守自己的傳統，而巧妙地把神的誡命拒絕了。因為摩西說：‘當孝敬父母’，又說：‘咒罵父母的，必被處死。’你們倒說：‘人對父母說，我應該給你的供奉，已經作了各耳板’（各耳板意思是奉給神的供物），你們就不讓那人再為父母作甚麼。

寡婦若有兒孫，就應當讓兒孫先在自己家裡學習孝道，報答親恩，因為這在神面前是蒙悅納的。

埃及地都在你面前，你只管叫你的父親和兄弟們住在這地最好的地方，他們可以住在歌珊地。你如果知道他們中間有能幹的人，可以派他們看管我的牲畜。”

你們卻說：‘人若對父母說：“我應該給你們的，已經作了獻給神的禮物”，他就可以不孝敬父母了。’你們因為你們的傳統，就廢棄了神的話。
