Jacob replied,“ I have traveled this earth for 130 hard years. But my life has been short compared to the lives of my ancestors.”

雅各回答说：“我在世上寄居一百三十年了，我的日子又苦又短，不像我祖先那样高寿。”

雅各回答法老：“我寄居在世的年日是一百三十岁。我一生的年日又少又苦，不及我祖先寄居在世的年日。”

雅各回答法老：“我在世寄居的年日有一百三十年了；我一生的年日又少又苦，不及我祖先在世寄居的年日。”

雅各對法老說：「我寄居在世的年日是一百三十歲，我平生的年日又少又苦，不及我列祖在世寄居的年日。」

雅各回答說：「我在世上寄居一百三十年了，我的日子又苦又短，不像我祖先那樣高壽。」

雅各回答法老：“我寄居在世的年日是一百三十歲。我一生的年日又少又苦，不及我祖先寄居在世的年日。”

雅各對法老說：『我寄居在世的年日已有一百三十歲：我一生的年日又少又苦，趕不上我祖宗寄居在世的日子一生的年日。』

雅各回答法老：「我在世寄居的年日有一百三十年了；我一生的年日又少又苦，不及我祖先在世寄居的年日。」

對曰、余旅世年百有三十、我之歲月無幾、且歷艱苦、不及吾祖旅世之年、

雅各曰、余旅世年百有三十、較祖旅世之年少、不能相及、且多歷艱苦。

And Jacob said to Pharaoh,“ The years of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty. My years have been few and difficult, and they do not equal the years of the pilgrimage of my fathers.”

Jacob said to Pharaoh,“ The years of my journey through life are 130. My years have been few and hard. They aren’t as many as the years of my father and grandfather before me.”

And Jacob said to Pharaoh,“ The days of the years of my sojourning are 130 years. Few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not attained to the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their sojourning.”

Jacob said to Pharaoh,“ My pilgrimage has lasted 130 years. My years have been few and hard, and they have not reached the years of my ancestors during their pilgrimages.”

So Jacob said to Pharaoh,“ The years of my living abroad are 130; few and unpleasant have been the years of my life, nor have they attained the years that my fathers lived during the days of their living abroad.”

And Jacob said to Pharaoh,“ The days of the years of my pilgrimage are one hundred and thirty years; few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not attained to the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.”

And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty years: few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.

Jacob said to Pharaoh,“ My pilgrimage has lasted 130 years. My years have been few and hard, and they have not surpassed the years of my fathers during their pilgrimages.”

And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage[ are] an hundred and thirty years: few and evil have the days of the years of my life been, and have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.

Jacob said to Pharaoh,“ All the years of my travels are 130. All the years of my life have been few and painful; the years of my travels are not as long as those of my ancestors.”

Jacob said to Pharaoh,“ The years of my pilgrimage are one hundred thirty years. The days of the years of my life have been few and evil. They have not attained to the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.”

“ How frail is humanity! How short is life, how full of trouble!

I am only a foreigner in the land. Don’t hide your commands from me!

You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.” Interlude

Your decrees have been the theme of my songs wherever I have lived.

Isaac lived for 180 years.

How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog— it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.

Hear my prayer, O Lord! Listen to my cries for help! Don’t ignore my tears. For I am your guest— a traveler passing through, as my ancestors were before me.

Dear friends, I warn you as“ temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls.

Remember how short my life is, how empty and futile this human existence!No one can live forever; all will die. No one can escape the power of the grave. Interlude

For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.

Moses was eighty years old, and Aaron was eighty three when they made their demands to Pharaoh.

When Nahor was 29 years old, he became the father of Terah.After the birth of Terah, Nahor lived another 119 years and had other sons and daughters.

“ Just ask the previous generation. Pay attention to the experience of our ancestors.For we were born but yesterday and know nothing. Our days on earth are as fleeting as a shadow.

We are here for only a moment, visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us. Our days on earth are like a passing shadow, gone so soon without a trace.

You turn people back to dust, saying,“ Return to dust, you mortals!”For you, a thousand years are as a passing day, as brief as a few night hours.You sweep people away like dreams that disappear. They are like grass that springs up in the morning.In the morning it blooms and flourishes, but by evening it is dry and withered.We wither beneath your anger; we are overwhelmed by your fury.You spread out our sins before you— our secret sins— and you see them all.We live our lives beneath your wrath, ending our years with a groan.Seventy years are given to us! Some even live to eighty. But even the best years are filled with pain and trouble; soon they disappear, and we fly away.Who can comprehend the power of your anger? Your wrath is as awesome as the fear you deserve.Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.

So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord.

Methuselah lived 969 years, and then he died.

Abraham lived for 175 years,and he died at a ripe old age, having lived a long and satisfying life. He breathed his last and joined his ancestors in death.

Job lived 140 years after that, living to see four generations of his children and grandchildren.Then he died, an old man who had lived a long, full life.

So Joseph died at the age of 110. The Egyptians embalmed him, and his body was placed in a coffin in Egypt.

Moses was 120 years old when he died, yet his eyesight was clear, and he was as strong as ever.

And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith— for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise.Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God.It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep his promise.And so a whole nation came from this one man who was as good as dead— a nation with so many people that, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore, there is no way to count them.All these people died still believing what God had promised them. They did not receive what was promised, but they saw it all from a distance and welcomed it. They agreed that they were foreigners and nomads here on earth.Obviously people who say such things are looking forward to a country they can call their own.If they had longed for the country they came from, they could have gone back.But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.

Jacob lived for seventeen years after his arrival in Egypt, so he lived 147 years in all.

And I reaffirmed my covenant with them. Under its terms, I promised to give them the land of Canaan, where they were living as foreigners.

After the birth of Arphaxad, Shem lived another 500 years and had other sons and daughters.

He was very old— eighty years of age— and very wealthy. He was the one who had provided food for the king during his stay in Mahanaim.“ Come across with me and live in Jerusalem,” the king said to Barzillai.“ I will take care of you there.”“ No,” he replied,“ I am far too old to go with the king to Jerusalem.I am eighty years old today, and I can no longer enjoy anything. Food and wine are no longer tasty, and I cannot hear the singers as they sing. I would only be a burden to my lord the king.

After this, Joshua son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died at the age of 110.
