Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

上帝說：『不，是你妻子撒拉必給你生個兒子；你要給他起名叫以撒；我要同他堅立我的約，做他以後的苗裔永遠的約。

你家裏生的，和你的銀子買來的、都一定要受割禮：這樣，我的約就在你們肉身上做永遠的約了。

怒氣橫溢，我暫時掩面不看你，我卻要以永遠的堅愛憐憫你：這是贖回你、的永恆主說的。『因為這在我看就像挪亞的日子：我怎樣起誓、不再使挪亞的洪水漫過大地，我也怎樣起誓、不惱怒你，不叱責你。因為大山可以挪開，小山可以挪動；但我的堅愛必不離開你，我和平的約必不更動：這是憐憫你、的永恆主說的。

我家在上帝面前豈不是這樣立着麼？上帝和我立了永遠的約；凡事安排、妥當穩固；我受的一切救恩和我的一切願望、他豈不使它發旺麼？

在我與你以及你以後的苗裔之間，我必堅立我的約，做世世代代永遠的約；好讓我做你和你以後的苗裔的上帝。

願賜平安的上帝、就是那憑永世之約的血把羣羊的大牧人、我們的主耶穌、從死人中領上來的、

我必與他們立個永遠的約，使我不轉離他們而不使他們得福樂；我也必將敬畏我的情意放在他們心裏，使他們不離開我。

『看哪，我同你們、以及你們以後的苗裔、堅立我的約；也同——跟你們在一起各樣有生命的活物、飛鳥、牲口，以及跟你們在一起的地上各樣走獸，儘所有從樓船裏出來的，地上各樣走獸——都堅立我的約。我要同你們堅立我的約：凡有血肉的必不再被洪流的水剪滅，也不再有洪水來毁壞大地。』

永恆主聞了那怡神的香氣，就心裏說：『我必不再因人的緣故而咒詛土地，雖然人從年幼時心裏所計畫的就是壞事；我也不再照我所剛行的來擊滅眾生了。儘地所有的日子，播種收割、寒暑冬夏、白晝黑夜、就永不停息了。』

你們要傾耳以聽，要來找我！你們要聽，就得以活；我必跟你們立個永遠的約，就是施給大衛那可信可靠之堅愛的。

『我對我所揀選的人立了約；我向我僕人大衛起了誓：「我必堅立你的後裔到永遠；我必建立你的王位到代代。」』（細拉）
