來傳講說：主永恆主這麼說：『看哪，埃及王法老啊，我跟你為敵，你這棲伏於自己河中的大鱷魚；你曾經說：「我這河是我自己的；我造了它。」

竟對着天上的主高抬自己，叫人把他殿中的器皿拿到你面前，你和你大臣、王后、妃嬪竟用這些器皿來喝酒；你又稱頌那些金銀銅鐵、木頭石頭的神，就是那些不能看、不能聽、不能知道的；至於那手中執掌你氣息、那管理你一生行程的上帝、你卻不將尊榮歸與他。

哼，你居然比但以理還有智慧！任何祕密事你看都不模糊；

你假手於你的臣僕來辱罵永恆主；你並且說：「我用我眾多的車輛；我上了山嶺的高峰，我到利巴嫩的極深處；我砍伐它高大的香柏樹，上好的松樹；我進到極遠的高處，園地般的森林。

恐怕你富足了，你心裏就說：「這資財是我的力量我手的力氣給我得來的。」

王應時說：『這豈不是大巴比倫，我用我財力的權勢所建築、做王家宮殿，要顯示我威嚴之光榮的麼？』
