You marched through the land in wrath. You threshed the nations in anger.

你发忿恨通行大地，发怒气责打列国，如同打粮。

你发怒遍行大地，以怒气责打列国，如打谷一般。

你怀着烈怒走遍大地，践踏万国。

你激愤践踏全地，你怀怒打碎列国。

爾發忿徧行大地、爾震怒蹂躪列邦、

爾氣既張、蹂躪異族、

主怒奮發、普行下土、主忿震烈、蹂躪敵民、

In wrath you strode through the earth and in anger you threshed the nations.

When you were angry, you marched across the earth. Because of your anger you destroyed the nations.

You marched through the earth in fury; you threshed the nations in anger.

You marched across the land in anger and trampled the nations in your fury.

You march across the earth with indignation; you trample down the nations in wrath.

In indignation You marched through the earth; In anger You trampled the nations.

You marched through the land in indignation; You trampled the nations in anger.

Thou didst march though the land in indignation; Thou didst thresh the nations in anger.

You march across the earth with indignation; You trample down the nations in wrath.

Thou didst march through the land in indignation, thou didst thresh the heathen in anger.

You furiously stomp on the earth, you angrily trample down the nations.

For Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says:“ The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floor at the time when it is trodden. Yet a little while, and the time of harvest comes for her.”

But they don’t know the thoughts of Yahweh, neither do they understand his counsel; for he has gathered them like the sheaves to the threshing floor.Arise and thresh, daughter of Zion; for I will make your horn iron, and I will make your hoofs bronze; and you will beat in pieces many peoples: and I will devote their gain to Yahweh, and their substance to the Lord of the whole earth.

We have heard with our ears, God; our fathers have told us what work you did in their days, in the days of old.You drove out the nations with your hand, but you planted them. You afflicted the peoples, but you spread them abroad.For they didn’t get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favorable to them.

He also drove out the nations before them, allotted them for an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.

Yahweh says:“ For three transgressions of Damascus, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron;

Behold, I have made you into a new sharp threshing instrument with teeth. You will thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and will make the hills like chaff.

Sihon would not allow Israel to pass through his border, but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness, and came to Jahaz. He fought against Israel.Israel struck him with the edge of the sword, and possessed his land from the Arnon to the Jabbok, even to the children of Ammon; for the border of the children of Ammon was fortified.Israel took all these cities. Israel lived in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon, and in all its villages.For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his land out of his hand, even to the Arnon.Therefore those who speak in proverbs say,“ Come to Heshbon. Let the city of Sihon be built and established;for a fire has gone out of Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon. It has devoured Ar of Moab, The lords of the high places of the Arnon.Woe to you, Moab! You are undone, people of Chemosh! He has given his sons as fugitives, and his daughters into captivity, to Sihon king of the Amorites.We have shot at them. Heshbon has perished even to Dibon. We have laid waste even to Nophah, Which reaches to Medeba.”Thus Israel lived in the land of the Amorites.Moses sent to spy out Jazer. They took its villages, and drove out the Amorites who were there.They turned and went up by the way of Bashan. Og the king of Bashan went out against them, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.Yahweh said to Moses,“ Don’t fear him, for I have delivered him into your hand, with all his people, and his land. You shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.”So they struck him, with his sons and all his people, until there were no survivors; and they possessed his land.

Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the children of Israel. No one went out, and no one came in.Yahweh said to Joshua,“ Behold, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and the mighty men of valor.All of your men of war shall march around the city, going around the city once. You shall do this six days.Seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. On the seventh day, you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.It shall be that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the city wall shall fall down flat, and the people shall go up, every man straight in front of him.”Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said to them,“ Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before Yahweh’s ark.”They said to the people,“ Advance! March around the city, and let the armed men pass on before Yahweh’s ark.”It was so, that when Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns before Yahweh advanced and blew the trumpets, and the ark of Yahweh’s covenant followed them.The armed men went before the priests who blew the trumpets, and the ark went after them. The trumpets sounded as they went.Joshua commanded the people, saying,“ You shall not shout nor let your voice be heard, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth until the day I tell you to shout. Then you shall shout.”So he caused Yahweh’s ark to go around the city, circling it once. Then they came into the camp, and stayed in the camp.Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up Yahweh’s ark.

When he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land for an inheritance for about four hundred fifty years.

Moreover you gave them kingdoms and peoples, which you allotted according to their portions. So they possessed the land of Sihon, even the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan.You also multiplied their children as the stars of the sky, and brought them into the land concerning which you said to their fathers, that they should go in to possess it.“ So the children went in and possessed the land, and you subdued before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gave them into their hands, with their kings and the peoples of the land, that they might do with them as they pleased.
