And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and he smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them; as Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded.

And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of Jehovah, which he will work for you to- day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to- day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.Jehovah will fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

And it came to pass at midnight, that Jehovah smote all the first- born in the land of Egypt, from the first- born of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the first- born of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the first- born of cattle.And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.

O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, When thou didst march through the wilderness;[ Selah

And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because Jehovah, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.

Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto Jehovah, and spake, saying, I will sing unto Jehovah, for he hath triumphed gloriously: The horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.Jehovah is my strength and song, And he is become my salvation: This is my God, and I will praise him; My father’s God, and I will exalt him.

Thou leddest thy people like a flock, By the hand of Moses and Aaron.

And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, while they were at the descent of Beth- horon, that Jehovah cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more who died with the hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

Jehovah is their strength, And he is a stronghold of salvation to his anointed.

Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: Thou brakest the heads of the sea- monsters in the waters.Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces; Thou gavest him to be food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

Now know I that Jehovah saveth his anointed; He will answer him from his holy heaven With the saving strength of his right hand.

Moses and Aaron among his priests, And Samuel among them that call upon his name; They called upon Jehovah, and he answered them.

Then thou spakest in vision to thy saints, And saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.I have found David my servant; With my holy oil have I anointed him:With whom my hand shall be established; Mine arm also shall strengthen him.

Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit in the midst of them?
