By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities— his eternal power and divine nature— have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. “ Tell them this:‘ These gods, who did not make the heavens and the earth, will perish from the earth and from under the heavens.’” (niv)

He who is the Portion of Jacob is not like these, for he is the Maker of all things, including Israel, the people of his inheritance— the Lord Almighty is his name. (niv)
