斯輩不見容於世、乃穴居野處、遁跡山林、

他进了一个山洞，在里面过夜。耶和华就问他：“以利亚，你在这里做什么？”

大卫离开迦特，逃到亚杜兰洞。他的兄弟和亲属知道后，都来到他那里，

扫罗追击非利士人回来，得知大卫在隐·基底的旷野，就率领三千以色列精兵去野羊岩附近搜索大卫和他的部下。他们来到路旁的一处羊圈，那里有一个山洞，扫罗进去大解。大卫和他的部下就躲在洞的深处。

西弗人到基比亚见扫罗，说：“大卫正躲在旷野附近的哈基拉山中。”

没有人关心义人的死亡，没有人明白虔诚人的去世。其实义人去世是脱离灾难。

耶洗别屠杀耶和华的众先知时，我把一百名先知分别藏在两个山洞里，每洞五十人，供应他们饮食。我主没有听说这事吗？

我向耶和华呼求，我高声向祂求助，我在祂面前倾诉我的苦情，向祂述说我的患难。耶和华啊，我心力交瘁的时候，只有你知道我当走的路。敌人已在我行的路上铺下网罗。看看我左右，无人关心我；我走投无路，无人眷顾我。耶和华啊，我向你呼求，你是我的避难所，在世上你是我的福分。求你垂听我的呼求，因为我身陷绝境。求你救我脱离迫害我的人，因为他们太强大了。求你救我脱离牢笼，好让我赞美你。因为你恩待我，义人必聚集在我周围。

“现在你回家去吧，你一进城，孩子就会死。全以色列会为他哀悼，把他埋葬。耶罗波安家人中只有他将得到安葬，因为以色列的上帝耶和华在他身上看见了良善。

查明他的藏身之处，回来如实告诉我，然后我会与你们同去。如果他在犹大境内，我要搜遍千家万户，找到他。”

约西亚全心、全意、全力归向耶和华，遵行摩西的一切律法，在犹大列王中空前绝后。然而，玛拿西所行的一切惹怒耶和华，耶和华对犹大仍盛怒未息。耶和华说：“我要像驱逐以色列人一样将犹大人从我面前赶走。我要撇弃我所拣选的耶路撒冷和我名常在的殿。”约西亚其他的事及作为都记在犹大的列王史上。约西亚执政期间，埃及王尼哥前往幼发拉底河援助亚述王，约西亚出兵迎战尼哥，在米吉多被杀。

西弗人去基比亚见扫罗，说：“大卫就躲在我们那里，在旷野南面哈基拉山上何利沙的堡垒里。

“你离开这里，往东去，到约旦河以东的基立溪旁躲起来。

大卫在西弗旷野的何利沙得知扫罗要来杀他。
