我們這短暫而輕微的苦楚要為我們成就極重、無比、永遠的榮耀。

惟獨從上頭來的智慧，先是清潔，後是和平、溫良、柔順，滿有憐憫和美善的果子，沒有偏私，沒有虛偽。正義的果實是為促進和平的人用和平栽種出來的。

耶和華雖嚴嚴地懲治我，卻未曾將我交於死亡。

趁還有指望，管教你的兒子，不可執意摧毀他。

肉身之父都是短時間隨己意管教我們，惟有靈性之父管教我們是要我們得益處，使我們在他的聖潔上有份。

喜愛你律法的人大有平安，任何事都不能使他們跌倒。

雖然你們必須在百般試煉中暫時憂愁，你們要為此喜樂，

背棄正路的，必受嚴刑；恨惡責備的，必致死亡。

公義的果實是平安，公義的效果是平靜和安穩，直到永遠。

聖靈的果子就是仁愛、喜樂、和平、忍耐、恩慈、良善、信實、溫柔、節制。這樣的事沒有律法禁止。

惟獨長大成人的才能吃乾糧，他們的心竅因練習而靈活，能分辨善惡了。

要棄絕那世俗的言語和老婦的無稽傳說。要在敬虔上操練自己：因操練身體有些益處；但敬虔在各方面都有益，它有現今和未來的生命的應許。

我就要用杖責罰他們的過犯，用鞭責罰他們的罪孽。

因為神的國不在乎飲食，而在乎公義、和平及聖靈中的喜樂。

他們滿眼是淫色，是止不住的罪，引誘心不堅定的人，心中習慣了貪婪，正是被詛咒的種類。
