My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion; (niv)

And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things. (niv)

How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. (niv)

And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says,“ My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, (niv)

So be very careful to love the Lord your God.“ But if you turn away and ally yourselves with the survivors of these nations that remain among you and if you intermarry with them and associate with them, (niv)

Then you will have success if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws that the Lord gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged. (niv)

Listen, my sons, to a father’s instruction; pay attention and gain understanding.I give you sound learning, so do not forsake my teaching.For I too was a son to my father, still tender, and cherished by my mother.Then he taught me, and he said to me,“ Take hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands, and you will live. (niv)

he said to them,“ Take to heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you this day, so that you may command your children to obey carefully all the words of this law.They are not just idle words for you— they are your life. By them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.” (niv)

My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words.Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart;for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body. (niv)

For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment,how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don’t you remember? (niv)

See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven?At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised,“ Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” (niv)

Be careful not to forget the covenant of the Lord your God that he made with you; do not make for yourselves an idol in the form of anything the Lord your God has forbidden. (niv)

You will be filled with shame instead of glory. Now it is your turn! Drink and let your nakedness be exposed! The cup from the Lord’s right hand is coming around to you, and disgrace will cover your glory. (niv)

“ Listen carefully to what I am about to tell you: The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men.” (niv)

I am raising up the Babylonians, that ruthless and impetuous people, who sweep across the whole earth to seize dwellings not their own. (niv)
