神又向谁发怒了四十年之久呢？难道不是那些犯了罪、尸首倒在旷野的人吗？

四十年之久惹上帝發怒的是誰呢？不就是那些犯罪作惡並倒斃在曠野的人嗎？

神又向誰發怒了四十年之久呢？難道不是那些犯了罪、屍首倒在曠野的人嗎？

又四十年彼所不悅者誰耶、非干罰而屍仆於野者乎、

上帝於四十載中憾誰、非犯罪而暴骨於野者乎、

天主於四十年間怒誰、非犯罪而屍仆於曠野者乎、

天主所謂：「厭惡斯代、垂四十春」者、又誰耶？非多行不義、卒至暴屍曠野者乎？

And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness?

Who was God angry with for 40 years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned? They died in the desert.

And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

And who made God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it the people who sinned, whose corpses lay in the wilderness?

With whom was God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

And with whom was He angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness?

Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness?

And with whom was he displeased forty years? was it not with them that sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

And who was He provoked with for 40 years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

But with whom was he grieved forty years?[ was it] not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

And against whom was God provoked for forty years? Was it not those who sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness?

With whom was he displeased forty years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

In this wilderness your bodies will fall— every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me. (niv)

Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe. (niv)

Say,“ This is what the Lord declares:“‘ Dead bodies will lie like dung on the open field, like cut grain behind the reaper, with no one to gather them.’” (niv)

But as for you, your bodies will fall in this wilderness.Your children will be shepherds here for forty years, suffering for your unfaithfulness, until the last of your bodies lies in the wilderness. (niv)

not one of those who saw my glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times— (niv)

Not one of them was among those counted by Moses and Aaron the priest when they counted the Israelites in the Desert of Sinai.For the Lord had told those Israelites they would surely die in the wilderness, and not one of them was left except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun. (niv)

The Lord’s hand was against them until he had completely eliminated them from the camp.Now when the last of these fighting men among the people had died, (niv)

For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea.They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.They all ate the same spiritual foodand drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did.Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written:“ The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.”We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did— and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died.We should not test Christ, as some of them did— and were killed by snakes.And do not grumble, as some of them did— and were killed by the destroying angel.These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come.So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (niv)
