既有必进安息的人，那先前听见福音的，因为不信从，不得进去。

既有宜入之人、而先聞福音者、因不順故不入、

然安息終必有人享之、而先聞嘉音者不信故不得享、

如是、必別有得享安息者、但先聞福音者、因不信故、而不得享、

可見後來者必有得入者焉。彼先聞慈音者之不得入、徒以執迷不悟故耳。

Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience,

It is still true that some people will enjoy this rest. But those who had the good news announced to them earlier didn’t go in. That’s because they didn’t obey.

Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience,

So God’s rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter because they disobeyed God.

Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news did not enter because of disobedience,

Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience,

And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed?So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief. (niv)

As for your children that you said would be taken as plunder, I will bring them in to enjoy the land you have rejected. (niv)

You will leave your name for my chosen ones to use in their curses; the Sovereign Lord will put you to death, but to his servants he will give another name. (niv)

Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly:“ We had to speak the word of God to you first. For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed. (niv)

I will strike them down with a plague and destroy them, but I will make you into a nation greater and stronger than they.” (niv)

Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham:“ All nations will be blessed through you.” (niv)

“ Therefore I want you to know that God’s salvation has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will listen!” (niv)

“ The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant,‘ Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’“‘ Sir,’ the servant said,‘ what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.’“ Then the master told his servant,‘ Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.I tell you, not one of those who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.’” (niv)

There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; (niv)

What I mean, brothers and sisters, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they do not; (niv)
