When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself,

For people swear by something greater than themselves, and in all their disputes an oath is final for confirmation.So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath,so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.

the oath that he swore to our father Abraham, to grant us

You will show faithfulness to Jacob and steadfast love to Abraham, as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

By myself I have sworn; from my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return:‘ To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.’

the covenant that he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac,which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant,

For I have sworn by myself, declares the Lord, that Bozrah shall become a horror, a taunt, a waste, and a curse, and all her cities shall be perpetual wastes.”

I will destroy all its beasts from beside many waters; and no foot of man shall trouble them anymore, nor shall the hoofs of beasts trouble them.

But if you will not obey these words, I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that this house shall become a desolation.
