Behold, they say,‘ Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off.’Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will bring you into the land of Israel.And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people.And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the Lord.”

Now a discussion arose between some of John’s disciples and a Jew over purification.And they came to John and said to him,“ Rabbi, he who was with you across the Jordan, to whom you bore witness— look, he is baptizing, and all are going to him.”

I myself did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me,‘ He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

“ Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”

And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family.

So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Why is it thought incredible by any of you that God raises the dead?

For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.

Your dead shall live; their bodies shall rise. You who dwell in the dust, awake and sing for joy! For your dew is a dew of light, and the earth will give birth to the dead.

This is the second death, the lake of fire.And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

What I mean is that each one of you says,“ I follow Paul,” or“ I follow Apollos,” or“ I follow Cephas,” or“ I follow Christ.”Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius,so that no one may say that you were baptized in my name.( I did baptize also the household of Stephanas. Beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized anyone else.)For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.

and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”

You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.”

The Pharisee was astonished to see that he did not first wash before dinner.

John answered them all, saying,“ I baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.He will render to each one according to his works:to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life;but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek,but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek.

who have swerved from the truth, saying that the resurrection has already happened. They are upsetting the faith of some.

I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how great is my distress until it is accomplished!

Martha said to him,“ I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.”Jesus said to her,“ I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
