Though they offer sacrifices as gifts to me, and though they eat the meat, the Lord is not pleased with them. Now he will remember their wickedness and punish their sins: They will return to Egypt.

The people love to offer sacrifices to me, feasting on the meat, but I do not accept their sacrifices. I will hold my people accountable for their sins, and I will punish them. They will return to Egypt.

The Lord has sworn by himself, the Pride of Jacob:“ I will never forget anything they have done. (niv)

The Lord will send you back in ships to Egypt on a journey I said you should never make again. There you will offer yourselves for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you. (niv)

Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Though you bring choice fellowship offerings, I will have no regard for them. (niv)

“ The multitude of your sacrifices— what are they to me?” says the Lord.“ I have more than enough of burnt offerings, of rams and the fat of fattened animals; I have no pleasure in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats. (niv)

They will not remain in the Lord’s land; Ephraim will return to Egypt and eat unclean food in Assyria.They will not pour out wine offerings to the Lord, nor will their sacrifices please him. Such sacrifices will be to them like the bread of mourners; all who eat them will be unclean. This food will be for themselves; it will not come into the temple of the Lord. (niv)

This is what the Lord says about this people:“ They greatly love to wander; they do not restrain their feet. So the Lord does not accept them; he will now remember their wickedness and punish them for their sins.” (niv)

“ Will they not return to Egypt and will not Assyria rule over them because they refuse to repent? (niv)

When they go with their flocks and herds to seek the Lord, they will not find him; he has withdrawn himself from them. (niv)

Is Gilead wicked? Its people are worthless! Do they sacrifice bulls in Gilgal? Their altars will be like piles of stones on a plowed field. (niv)

“‘ This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Go ahead, add your burnt offerings to your other sacrifices and eat the meat yourselves!For when I brought your ancestors out of Egypt and spoke to them, I did not just give them commands about burnt offerings and sacrifices,but I gave them this command: Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in obedience to all I command you, that it may go well with you. (niv)

They do not turn to the Most High; they are like a faulty bow. Their leaders will fall by the sword because of their insolent words. For this they will be ridiculed in the land of Egypt. (niv)

And it will be: Like people, like priests. I will punish both of them for their ways and repay them for their deeds. (niv)

For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves. (niv)

So then, when you come together, it is not the Lord’s Supper you eat, (niv)

“ You shall have no other gods before me. (niv)

The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath. (niv)

Now go, lead the people to the place I spoke of, and my angel will go before you. However, when the time comes for me to punish, I will punish them for their sin.” (niv)

But Samuel replied:“ Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams. (niv)

but they do not realize that I remember all their evil deeds. Their sins engulf them; they are always before me. (niv)

The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable— how much more so when brought with evil intent! (niv)
