Like fluttering birds pushed from the nest, so are the women of Moab at the fords of the Arnon.

The women of Moab are at the places where people go across the Arnon River. They are like birds that flap their wings when they are pushed from their nest.

Like fleeing birds, like a scattered nest, so are the daughters of Moab at the fords of the Arnon.

Like a bird fleeing, forced from the nest, the daughters of Moab will be at the fords of the Arnon.

Then, like fluttering birds or scattered nestlings, The daughters of Moab will be at the crossing places of the Arnon.

For it shall be as a wandering bird thrown out of the nest; So shall be the daughters of Moab at the fords of the Arnon.

For it shall be that, as wandering birds, as a scattered nest, so shall the daughters of Moab be at the fords of the Arnon.

Like a bird fleeing, forced from the nest, the daughters of Moab will be at the fords of the Arnon.

For it shall be,[ that], as a wandering bird cast out of the nest,[ so] the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon.

At the fords of the Arnon the Moabite women are like a bird that flies about when forced from its nest.

For it will be that as wandering birds, as a scattered nest, so will the daughters of Moab be at the fords of the Arnon.

A person who strays from home is like a bird that strays from its nest.

“ Finally, they went around Edom and Moab through the wilderness. They traveled along Moab’s eastern border and camped on the other side of the Arnon River. But they never once crossed the Arnon River into Moab, for the Arnon was the border of Moab.

“ So we took the land of the two Amorite kings east of the Jordan River— all the way from the Arnon Gorge to Mount Hermon.

“ The Lord our God also helped us conquer Aroer on the edge of the Arnon Gorge, and the town in the gorge, and the whole area as far as Gilead. No town had walls too strong for us.

“ And the reply comes back,‘ Moab lies in ruins, disgraced; weep and wail! Tell it by the banks of the Arnon River: Moab has been destroyed!’

Then they moved out and camped on the far side of the Arnon River, in the wilderness adjacent to the territory of the Amorites. The Arnon is the boundary line between the Moabites and the Amorites.For this reason The Book of the Wars of the Lord speaks of“ the town of Waheb in the area of Suphah, and the ravines of the Arnon River,and the ravines that extend as far as the settlement of Ar on the border of Moab.”

Everyone in Babylon will run about like a hunted gazelle, like sheep without a shepherd. They will try to find their own people and flee to their own land.

Their territory extended from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon Gorge( including the town in the middle of the gorge) to the plain beyond Medeba.

“ When we took possession of this land, I gave to the tribes of Reuben and Gad the territory beyond Aroer along the Arnon Gorge, plus half of the hill country of Gilead with its towns.
