当夜，耶和华的使者出去，在亚述营中杀了十八万五千人。清早有人起来，一看，都是死尸了。

你满受羞辱，不得荣耀；你也喝吧，显出是未受割礼的！耶和华右手的杯必传到你那里；你的荣耀就变为大大地羞辱。你向黎巴嫩行强暴与残害惊吓野兽的事必遮盖你；因你杀人流血，向国内的城并城中一切居民施行强暴。

亚述王来到亚叶，经过米矶仑，在密抹安放辎重。他们过了隘口，在迦巴住宿。拉玛人战兢；扫罗的基比亚人逃跑。迦琳的居民哪，要高声呼喊！莱煞人哪，须听！哀哉！困苦的亚拿突啊。玛得米那人躲避；基柄的居民逃遁。当那日，亚述王要在挪伯歇兵，向锡安女子的山，就是耶路撒冷的山，抡手攻他。

那时以色列归耶和华为圣，作为土产初熟的果子；凡吞吃它的必算为有罪，灾祸必临到他们。这是耶和华说的。’”

对他说：“希西家如此说：‘今日是急难、责罚、凌辱的日子，就如妇人将要生产婴孩，却没有力量生产。

万军之耶和华以色列的神说：“我指着我的永生起誓：摩押必像所多玛，亚扪人必像蛾摩拉，都变为刺草、盐坑、永远荒废之地。我百姓所剩下的必掳掠他们；我国中所余剩的必得着他们的地。”这事临到他们是因他们骄傲，自夸自大，毁谤万军之耶和华的百姓。

耶和华说：这是你所当得的，是我量给你的份；因为你忘记我，倚靠虚假。

这是恶人从神所得的份，是神为他所定的产业。”

因耶和华必为他辨屈；抢夺他的，耶和华必夺取那人的命。

耶和华啊，愿你的仇敌都这样灭亡！愿爱你的人如日头出现，光辉烈烈！”这样，国中太平四十年。

祸哉！你这毁灭人的，自己倒不被毁灭；行事诡诈的，人倒不以诡诈待你。你毁灭罢休了，自己必被毁灭；你行完了诡诈，人必以诡诈待你。

甚至他们不必从田野捡柴，也不必从树林伐木；因为他们要用器械烧火，并且抢夺那抢夺他们的人，掳掠那掳掠他们的人。这是主耶和华说的。”

有人从那里经过，不料，他没有了；我也寻找他，却寻不着。
